Skate protector : Available to public ?
Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if regular hockey player can buy skates protectors that some of the NHL players use to protect their ankles whiles blocking shots. Theirs seem custom made, but does any company sell such product to the public ? If yes, where can we buy them and are much are they ?

I also posted some pictures to figure out what I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance.

We sell them at my shop. They are a clear lexan material...wish I had a link for you, but I don't know the manufacturer off the top of my head.

http://www.skatefenders.com/ These use Lexan and are very cost effective.

The carbonfibre skate guards you posted are priced at about $250.

Thanks for the information, TBLfan. The price is high...but if it save ankle / foot injuries and help blocking shots, it may be useful.

Anybody know an online store that sell them ?
