Mod edit:
CSNPhilly.com, November 4...

“Unless things change in warmups, defenseman Andrej Meszaros will be back in the lineup. “I sure hope so,” said Meszaros, who suffered a concussion last Saturday against the Islanders … Andres Nodl (left shoulder) said he’s making progress and hopes to play this weekend. He too, was injured against the Islanders. …

The terms used earlier by Holmgren were "day-to-day" and "possible" for tomorrow.

Most likely, he'll be reevaluated again tomorrow.

Both Andrej Meszaros and Andreas Nodl suffered injuries in the Flyers' 6-1 win over the New York Islanders on Saturday but might be ready for tonight's home game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

General manager Paul Holmgren indicated neither injury was considered serious.

"Nodl and Meszaros are both listed as day to day with upper body injuries," Holmgren said on Sunday. "Both players are possible for (tonight)."

However, the Flyers called up defenseman Oskars Bartulis from the Adirondack Phantoms on Sunday night in case Meszaros is not able to play.

Meszaros was injured on a hit by the Isles' Trent Hunter at 7:45 of the second period and remained on the ice for several moments before skating slowly to the bench. He did not return to action.

In homer speak that could be career ending injury too, so you never know.

Probably groin injury that will be treated with ice.

It's cool.

BernieParent 11-01-2010 12:29 PM

Is there any update on Meszaros?

He skated today. Indications are he'll play.

BernieParent 11-01-2010 12:51 PM

Thanks, MSE. At least there's one positive note about the roster.

Playing tonight hasn't been confirmed but considering the immediate thoughts after the hit, the indications are better than expected.

If Homer was a spokeman for the Japanese during WWII then I'm sure there'd be a press release stating the following: After attack on Hiroshima, over 50,000 residents are listed as day-to-day.

That's excellent. Sad truths are always funny.

I think we should dress Walke........ nevermind....

Barts was called up wasn't he? He'll have to fill the void.

Statements like that make me think that Homer has no idea what a concussion is.

So, in Homer-speak that means Mez's head fell off and had to be duct taped back on. :shakehead

^ I hope Meszaros didn't take part in a full workout today.

Tim P. reported possible concussion/broken nose almost immediately Saturday night but I assumed it was his opinion since he didn't cite any sources, unnamed or otherwise.

Its not good when homer says that it is a concussion. Mez has been our standout performer on the ice this year.

kicksave27 11-01-2010 10:43 PM

So let me get this straight, we have 2 players end up with a concussion in one game, and briere is the one who gets 3 games?

Injury Report: Paul Holmgren doesn't have the slightest idea what he is doing.
