Artem Anisimov Appreciation Thread

This was warranted. This guy has been pretty damn consistent this season for a sophomore centerman. Wouldn't be surprised with a 60 point campaign.

14 points in 17 games. Keep it up Artem. :handclap:

morffin 11-14-2010 06:25 PM

Hes been my fav of all the kids since last year .... thanks for starting this thread...the kid is a hell of a 2 way player...plays D like a vet....and hes only going to get bigger/ stronger/ better.

JeffMangum 11-14-2010 06:32 PM

His defensive awareness is off the charts. Future Selke candidate for sure.

The way he handled Kovalchuk in NJ was incredible. He was checking him so aggressively, he was getting frustrated as hell.

NYRFAN218 11-14-2010 06:36 PM

Probably my favorite player on the team. He's definitely my next jersey too, haven't gotten a jersey since Drury back in 07-08. Not only has he played great on the ice, also a hell of a nice guy off the ice from the times I've met him.

Wraparounds 11-14-2010 06:50 PM

His English is awesome.

I really have no complaints about AA's play so far this season. I LOVE his wrist shot.

Playing very well defensively and also putting up points on board. Love the kid. Hopefully he keeps it up.

This has been a huge season for him thus far, I couldn't be more excited about his play. He's definitely making me think about what jersey to get.

His wrister is so quick... he drags the puck back a few times and lets one go.

Not only is the wrist shot quick, but the release is quick as well.

Fitzy 11-14-2010 07:54 PM

I don't expect him to maintain this pace, but certainly it seems my prediction for a breakout season wasn't totally misplaced.

New York RKY 11-14-2010 08:06 PM

I LOVE his game.

He definitely is one of my favorite kids on the team and has made gains by leaps and bounds over last year.

I am very curious to see where he ends up this year, this kid is going to be a very good player for a long time (hopefully with us).

He will be a great #2 centerman. He definitely does remind me of a poor man's Datysuk, and any comparison to Datsyuk I will take

Been appreciating him ever since I was lucky enough to see him on the Wolf Pack here! Continuing to appreciate him as a Rangers fan as well. Great thread. :D

Very physical game today against oilers. Got a little carried away with a x-check and took a penalty, but that's OK.

asparkoflife 11-14-2010 08:15 PM

Been a fan of him since the 08-09 wolfpack season. He's an awesome young 2-way player and he will be the name/number on my Rangers 3rd jersey.

Yeah, it's like a true wrister where you drag it back and gun it. That's just beauty.

Now, all players seem to do is just a straight up snap shot or an inbetween of those two shots.

Jumbo* 11-14-2010 11:43 PM

He sure loves scoring off the right post haha

nyranger61494 11-14-2010 11:44 PM

One could argue he has been our best forward dating back to the last month/six weeks of last season. Hope his offense continues to progress and match his defensive diligence. Kid works hard and just so glad to see our young core step up.

t3hg00se 11-15-2010 12:54 AM

He has the tools and the hockey IQ to evolve into a 1c. I can't imagine what he will bring to the table when he fills out his frame.

Beacon 11-15-2010 01:16 AM

I must say, I expected him to round out as a third liner, but he's proving me wrong and good for him!

He's looking like a solid second liner. Hopefully either Step or Werek can fill the first line center spot.

RangerBoy 11-15-2010 07:05 AM

AA is on pace for a 66 point season. Arbitration eligible or not,AA is going to cost the Rangers mucho dinero if he gets a 60 point season. That is $3-$4 million per territory. AA is not arbitration eligible this summer. AA is in line for close to $2 million per if he has a 40 point season.

Blue Blooded 11-15-2010 08:44 AM

If the Flyers got Giroux locked up for 3yr@3.75 I doubt Artem gets 4M from Slats. M.Koivu's 2nd contract could perhaps be a comparable, 4yr@3.25. This is assuming he keeps his pace up.

pld459666 11-15-2010 08:59 AM

.

Just keep that trio together and I see no reason we can't get a 60+ point season from each of them.

If Gaborik can remain healthy, he Frolov and EC/Prospal/Stepan will put up points that will leave opposing teams in an uncomfortable situation of who to game plan against.

Yes, I know. Gone are the days of the checking line. Teams still maintain a focus of defence and play tope defensive pairs against certain lines and if you have Gaboriks line going, the Pack line will be able to line up against a lesser defence pairing

I can see a 60+ point average from that line.

AA is a "Floater"

Very talented guy but I consider AA a "floater". He reminds me of some other Russians who don't play that hard for large chunks of the game but get by on their talent. It amazes me how he can vanish for periods on end while playing with 2 such hard working wings like Callahan and Dubi. Unquestionably headed towards success as a scorer in the NHL but he would be far better if he had an engine like his linemates. I'd like to see him score against the tough grinding teams such as the Flyers. I'm not sure he has that kind of heart.

Swept In Seven 11-15-2010 09:09 AM

He is the best center on this team
