Playing Goalie in Vancouver, BC
Quick question in regard to "house rules" for playing goal in a beer league in BC..

I just moved out to BC from ON, and don't know if I should expect the same rules.

If joining a team, or being asked to sit in net for a pick-up game - is the goalie expected to pay for his/her ice time? (in ontario, we don't have to caugh up the cheddar)

When joining a team it always depends sometimes its full, most of the time its half, sometimes its nothing, but for drop in sessions/scrimmages for the most part goalies pay nothing.

When I lived in Vancouver, the league I played in (based out of Richmond) the goalies rarely paid.

Only when it was their turn to bring the beer.

Thanks for the reply fellas.

Beer is always the exception to the goaltender house rule
Besides, contributing to the dressin room pops helps my team forget the "lack of contribution" I made to the game.:)

Also when joining a team if your a pretty good goalie then you probably wont have to pay much or at all considering how hard it is to get a good goalie.

The drop ins I've been at the goalie plays free.

If you want some free ice time and to take some shots, check with the power skating instructors at 8 Rinks. They love to have goalies show up to shoot at for the courses.
