11/17/10 - Anaheim @ Minnesota - 7 PM CST - FSN

I should like the Ducks more as they were named after a lawyer and coached by a drunk, but in the end they are cheaters. Seriously, Edina is not a part of District 5.

Quote:

District 6, one of the 16 area associations affiliated with the statewide governing body, is made up of 13 hockey associations in Bloomington, Burnsville, Chaska, Eden Prairie, Edina, Minnetonka, New Prague, Prior Lake/Savage, Richfield, Shakopee and Waconia. They run hockey programs mostly for kids ages 5 to 19.
As for the actual game, Stoner's probably out, Clutterbuck's probably in, Havlat will be paired once again with Nystrom and Madden and everything else should be the same as Sunday (aka Backstrom's in net). See, I can post real information too! Now here's a picture.

Quack. Quack. Quack.

mnwildgophers 11-17-2010 11:23 AM

Wild win as usual, 3-2.

bozak911 11-17-2010 11:38 AM

This will be a tough one to call.

The Ducks played last night, in Dallas. They got in late. Normally, I think we do fairly well against teams on the 2nd night of a back to back and we are fresh. Normally, the ice is slanted that way.

However, the Ducks also lost last night in a somewhat controversial manner. They started Hiller last night, so they will probably go with McElhinney tonight. The Wild have a tendency to make back-up goaltenders look good. Although, the one time we faced McElhinney last season, I think we won.

I think the Wild lose tonight, in a shootout, 3-2.

Scoring for the Ducks - Koivu and Selanne, with Getzlaf getting the only shootout goal.
Scoring for the Wild - Brunette and Cullen, both on the power play.

GopherState 11-17-2010 11:43 AM

Opposition GDT - apparently we're boring. Did anyone else know that?

WildisLaw 11-17-2010 11:56 AM

Well when you throw a league worst 24.6 shots at the net per game, its pretty entertaining. Dare I say the Wild outshoot the Ducks tonight and they win 4-2 but keep in mind teams on the 2nd night of back to backs were they're kryptonite last year.

GopherState 11-17-2010 12:22 PM

It's a bad sign when the Wild averaging almost 25 shots seems like more than they usually get.

CT* 11-17-2010 12:35 PM

I wasn't aware we were a boring team, thanks Ducks fans.

Wild win 3-2

Koivu, Cullen, Brunette (PP)
Koivu, Ryan

Jarick 11-17-2010 12:53 PM

Over/under on Koivu-Koivu comments?

Going to watch tonight's game at a friend's house but would rather be practicing my shot...stupid snow and no ice.

GopherState 11-17-2010 12:58 PM

On here, FSN or both?

And snow but no ice is the worst.

Pilney21 11-17-2010 01:21 PM

Wild hold 2-0 lead through 2 with strong D and at least one PP goal. Ducks dominate third scoring 1 with a few minutes left. Wild weather the storm and squeak out the W with Backstrom standing on his head.

Wild 2
Koivu, Bruno (PP)

Ducks 1
Getzlaf

CT* 11-17-2010 01:21 PM

I'm going to take a shot every time Terharr mentions Koivu/Koivu.

I am probably going to die tonight.

That's the spirit!

I'll be at the game tonight. Feels like forever since I've gone. Hopefully Burns being out doesn't hurt the squad too much tonight...

Really? I think the exact opposite. Everytime Russo and the TV crew mention about "how the opposing team had a late night last night", the Wild come out flat and get owned.

GopherState 11-17-2010 02:29 PM

Getting to know your opposition: Anaheim Ducks Edition. Going back to the tired and true method or as much as one can with little being said other than "snoozefest." Hopefully the two teams can prove us all wrong, but at this point everyone should expect that to be a top-five comment. And by this point, I mean it will be a top-five comment until the end of time.

This reminds me -- I want to add something to the drinking game. Take a drink/shot every time Terharr (or Terhaar? Whatever) is talking about one player, then goes to reference the new player who just got the puck but can't do so until the camera shows the new player's #. When Minnesota's 3rd and 4th line are getting a lot of ice time and/or there's a bunch of Houston call ups... My God, so drunk.

And to join CT tonight, I'm going to drink every time Greenlay/Terharr allude to the fact that the Koivu's are brothers. "Baby brother Mikko flies right by the older Saku." "Mikko is hoping to step up and support his team like Saku did for so many years with Montreal." etc etc etc

WildisLaw 11-17-2010 03:14 PM

Nhl power play host is sick and didn't get a fill in, this is brutal

If one of those exact phrases is said, you must finish your drink.

Generic User 11-17-2010 03:37 PM

If something comes within whiffing distance of one of those phrases I'm finishing my drink. If they don't say anything like that all night I'm finishing my drink.

I know. Scooter (while sick) totally sounds like Jesse Ventura. I had to press info to make sure that it was still Laughlin.

It's a pretty "big deal day" and The Boss said on "the point" that he gave Scott the option to not go on the air but since it's their 5-year anniversary, Laughlin said he'd go...

I was hoping Conway was going to get a call up.

Read the first post. He's ineligible.

It's really too bad Dean Portman and Fulton Reed never could make the show. As you all remember, Dean was about to reach his full potential when he was caught juicing. Fulton, on the other hand... 1 outta 5 just wasn't good enough.

We still have the memories, though... Quack... Quack... Quack... and so on.

Pilney21 11-17-2010 05:25 PM

The Koivus won't be the only brother duo tonight. Can't forget about the Bash brothers.

Im gonna say Staubitz drops the gloves with Fulton Reed tonight. Reed is an untested fighter at the NHL level but he knows how to tussle. Should be a good middleweight bout.
