Probably to replace Gabby.

NYR Viper 12-22-2010 10:33 AM

Boo ya!! Its on!

Claxton 12-22-2010 10:35 AM

About time. Hopefully his playmaking skills come through quickly so it will be painful to send him down.

Rust Heisenberg 12-22-2010 10:35 AM

if he impresses who goes down when gabby comes back?

White. And maybe Avery.

PassShootScore 12-22-2010 10:36 AM

Yes. Hopefully he is here to replace White and not Gaborik

Florida Ranger 12-22-2010 10:36 AM

Here comes the high expectations and then the high disappointments.

Gaborik is hurt. Zucc's here to replace him. I wouldn't be surprised to see Weise called up tomorrow to replace White.

HockeyBasedNYC 12-22-2010 10:40 AM

Gaborik has a sore groin?

I guess that bag skate in the last practice is the first time in a while he's skated hard.

NYR Viper 12-22-2010 10:43 AM

Wait! I missed it! Gaborik is hurt!?!?

Florida Ranger 12-22-2010 10:43 AM

Didn't Gaborik already have a minor groin sore last year as well and still played?

Don't be ridiculous. Avery isn't going anywhere.

Please, let's not make more of this than it is. We don't know how long Gaborik is out for, could just be one game. That means MZA could be here for just one game, too.

I know right. He might not even play. This could just be a precaution.

I'm not advocating it, but it's not something that I would be surprised to see.

Actually, I forgot about Frolov. So disregard that.

CM PUNK 12-22-2010 10:58 AM

we only have 3 games before new years and should be able to beat nj and isles without gabby...obviously depending on how he feels, i'd lean toward sitting him the next 3 games so he has basically 2 weeks off to get fully healed. i think its been fairly obvious that he isn't 'right' the last few weeks and hopefully getting his groin healed up will solve that.

thewaitingisover 12-22-2010 11:04 AM

Wait...Gaborik has a groin?

HockeyBurd* 12-22-2010 11:05 AM

Gaborik is injured again? Jeez. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Where is this news? I haven't seen it anywhere.

Not confirmed as "hurt" yet, Brooksie reported that he has a 'groin issue', as well as Del Zotto having the flu.

BIG BIG BIG Opportunity here..... ok kid get a good taste of NY and do what you need to do to never go back to Hartford again....

Fitzy 12-22-2010 11:07 AM

Good for Zuc. Shows him at least that Management has been paying attention.

Riche16 12-22-2010 11:07 AM

This isn't good news at all... It means gabby is hurt. This yr has been ridiculous with the injuries

Vitto79 12-22-2010 11:08 AM

I would just rest Gabby and bring him back in the New Yr on a line with Prospal. Seems like Vinny is real close

Ail 12-22-2010 11:09 AM

Good news! :handclap:

TrueBlueNorwegian 12-22-2010 11:16 AM

Really hope MZA makes the most of this opportunity. Make it hard for the cigar to send you back to the AHL, Mats. Good luck, make us proud! LGR!
