Jonathan Bernier Is Making The Adjustment To Backup Role With LA Kings
|
Thanks
|
I have Bernier in a keeper pool that has 3 seasons remaining after this one.
We only have one goalie position and I drafted him thinking he'd play more this year. We get one waiver a year, which I'm considering using to drop Bernier for Price or Quick - and then I can consider picking up Bernier again next season.... The reason I'm thinking this is because I'm hanging onto first (thanks Crosby and H Sedin) and would like to solidify it for this season with a goalie that will actually play. Thoughts from a kings fan? thanks in advance |
Bernier is younger than Quick, however for the near term. Quick is going to be the goalie to start the majority of the time. As much as I am a Bernier guy, and see the potential in him. I can't see how he can knock Quick off his perch at this point. Quick is pretty much playing lights out and is the MVP for the Kings right now.
I will say this though, Quick needs to show he can show up at the end of the year and in the playoffs even though he has statistically he has improved very much this year compared to last season. He put in a lot of work in the offseason, and it's paying off. So the chances are good that he will be successful at the end of the year. Dean Lombardi is looking for that Goalie that can carry the Kings at times during the playoffs. That's when we'll know who the Goalie of the future is. |
