Six PM Start Times?

Anybody know why?

We're gonna be in PHX... they're an hour ahead of us. The Coyotes/Dbacks/Suns will start many of their home games at 6 PM PST.

6PM New Year's Day I would think because it's a holiday. The Kings also may be testing out an earlier start time on weekends. 7PM (or 6) would be better on weekends IMO.

The Monday Jan 4th game is a 6PM start due to it being a nationally televised game on Versus. 9PM is the latest they want any west coast game starting or they lose too many east coast viewers. BTW - it's been years since any national broadcast outlet has televised a regular season Kings *home game* nationally. You'd have to go back to the days of ESPN and even then it's been years (if it's happened at all).

It is my fault. I told Luc, I have to be at work early and these games that go on until 11 pm with overtime and a shootout were causing me to be sleepy at work. Sorry.

That's all reasonable.

Weekend 6PM starts are fine (although the changeover from matinee basketball must be tough). Six PM probably makes a lot more sense for the barkeeps and restaurateurs at LA Live, too.

For weeknights, even 7PM is pushing it.

Not to be a nitpicker but that isn't accurate. I distinctly remember a Kings "sudden victory" (god I hate Joe Beninnatti) against Dallas at home a few years back. Lubo scored the game winner. I don't think that is the only one either. It has probably 2 or 3 years but Versus has done at least one home game that I can remember.

There was also a game against the Devils on Versus. Those two were it.

I stand corrected. Gracias :)

Because, I'm called the NHl..told them I am tired of games starting at 9:30pm for me here in Northwest Florida!
