Kings Don't Win The Game, But Hey, Doan Doesn't Get a Hat-Trick!

Small victories, guys.

Small victories!

But meh, long home stand coming up. Hopefully we can rise up to the challenge against the Flyers and get back on the winning ways in the last game of the 2010 year.

Johnson/Doughty were awful.

And Murray's coaching was pitiful. The Coyotes cared more about scoring in the 3rd than the Kings did. Jeez.

DAkings20 12-29-2010 11:38 PM

Bernier gets a shutout! Oh wait........

And no hatty for you Doan, suck on that *****.

Cruel11 12-29-2010 11:38 PM

I hate Shane Doan.

FrozenKing18 12-29-2010 11:39 PM

Forget about it.

Now onto Philadelphia

Murray should have called a timeout to calm down the guys when it went 5-3 or pull Quick. We needed a change of pace, but we went off the rails and went down 6-3. After that, Murray threw in the towel and looked towards tomorrow.

Bernier with a shutout and the Kings lose by three. ;)

At least there is another game tomorrow. No time for them to feel sorry for themselves.

Just like the St. Louis game, I expect a different team tomorrow against Philly.

I'm sure we will get the same lame quotes from the players. Just cut and paste from St. Louis.

No hat trick for Doan. Bernier shuts the door. Quick should never play Phoenix again.

The more I think about it.. The more I'm just like "whatever" about the loss..

Phoenix Coyotes = San Diego Padres.

Seriously. Just go home. Nobody cares, even if you win.

Ron 12-29-2010 11:41 PM

At least someone put up this thread before they closed the game thread, like the other night.

The first period was extremely entertaining (I guess from a casual fan's viewpoint), but that wasn't the second best defense in the league I saw tonight. And they may fall out of that slot given the performance tonight.

I don't know, maybe they were looking forward to Philly. I just hope they bring it tomorrow night...this was embarrassing.

Orenji 12-29-2010 11:42 PM

Still 4th in the West. Only team in the West to play less games than us are the Oilers, so no team has games in hand. We're 3 points behind the Stars with two games in hand.

We still can't start losing. Blues, Avalanche and Sharks are two points behind us, and Blues/Avs have played the same amount of games.

Sydor25 12-29-2010 11:42 PM

The game between Pittsburgh and Washington on HBO tonight was epic. Lots of on ice chatter and a view of the war room in Toronto.

HBO and the NHL need to do this type of game weekly. That would grow the sport.

Cruel11 12-29-2010 11:42 PM

In-N-Out couldn't bail the team. And the Kings are 2-1-0 at KCOP 13

Channel 13 games suck. No HD.

I mean come on already...Channel 13 has been the joke in Los Angeles for at least the past 45 years, we really can't get a better commercial channel than this to broadcast Kings' games???

Orenji 12-29-2010 11:44 PM

Zeus and possibly Stoll are gone after this year. With Schenn tearing up the World Juniors, he'll be ready for at LEAST a 3rd line starting job next year.

And Loktionov is tearing it up in the AHL, and he'll be ready to go, too.

And then you got Trevor Lewis who could work a 3rd line center role next year, too.

Zeus is just getting too slow. Maybe he'll pick it up, but who knows.

They should have just skipped the game entirely. The Kings did.

Muzzinga 12-29-2010 11:45 PM

meh, these games happen, and will probably happen at least once more before the end of the season. Every team has games where it all falls apart

At least we had our fall apart game against a team we can't beat when playing well anyway. Small victories

xavi4life 12-29-2010 11:45 PM

Did someone forget to flush? That game stunk!

Stoll shoots! Wide...

Those are three most words out of Bob Miller's mouth the past two seasons...I just don't know why the guy can't put it more on the net...and they aren't "rebound playmakers" either, they are WIDE shots.

Zeus will be gone. Stoll won't though, no chance. You cant have 2 rookies and a sophomore in your centre lienup. Which 1 plays on the shutdown line? Stoll will hopefully be the 3rd line centre next year. Wouldn't be all that suprised to see Loki as 2nd line centre and Schenn in the AHL, then have Schenn come up and be the 3rd line centre a year later

Orenji 12-29-2010 11:47 PM

Stoll is still valuable. He isn't a bad player, not super slow, and wins draws like a mad man.

Zeus is still good on the PK, but so is Lewis, and I'm sure we would be fine without him.

Sydor25 12-29-2010 11:47 PM

Quick for the Vezina. :sarcasm:
