Mark Bell is a guy I saw as a possible reclamation project...scored 25 at 25 years of age and wasn't afraid to mix it up...but his game has gone to the crapper since the DUI. In 06-07 and 07-08 he played 106 games and went 15-16-31 and hasn't put up good numbers AHL or Swiss A league...

I'm not familiar with the Swiss A league but do top players usually put up ppg numbers because 13 goals and 27 points in 39 games and 13g and 21p in 36 games doesn't sound that bad.

Wow I remember Eric Landry, #78 played 2 games under Therrien back in 2001-02

and I assume the guys in the AHL must have permission from their NHL teams (ie: Deslaurier)

Yep, the tournament is in Europe, so it's generally almost all Canadians playing abroad (Metropolit is a great example; same case with most of the roster).

Then they add a couple of AHL'ers whose clubs loan them out. Example, Justin Pogge played for Canada when he was still consider a legit prospect for the Leafs. Or, Deslauriers this year.

Just noticed this game is live tomorrow morning at 6am! Guess I won't mind the little one waking me up tomorrow:laugh:

There's 3 Ex-Habs on the team; Eric Landry (2000-2002, 53 GP, 12 PTS), Yannick Lehoux (2008-2009, AHL only, 80 GP, 60 PTS), and Glen Metropolit (2009-2010, 90 GP, 32 PTS).

Metropolit leads the Ex-Habs scoring in the tournament with 5 PTS, Lehoux has 3 PTS, and Landry has 1 goal.

SKA St. Petersburg has a ridiculous team; Alexei Yashin, Johan Fransson, Denis Grebeshkov, Vitaly Vishnevskiy, Maxim Afinogenov, Evgeny Artyukhin, Maxim Sushinskiy, Mattias Weinhandl, and Petr Cajanek.

I think Canada is missing both their captain Serge Aubin (back spasms) and Mark Bell (leg, I believe). Ugh.
