G Anthony Brodeur - Drummondville Voltigeurs, QMJHL (2013, 208th overall New Jersey)

He is a goalie of shattuck st. mary's U-16. 2013 draft eligible. Is he Marty's son? How good is he?

He has a twitter. http://twitter.com/#!/abrodeur30

Wouldn't it be cool if he becomes the Devils goalie in the future.

Jaysfanatic* 01-04-2011 05:45 PM

I bet the Devils do everything to draft Anthony.

Haha, that would be something. If Marty plays about four or five more years we'll see the first ever father-son goalie tandem.

You know a lot of times we end up glorifying these young players to the point of immortality, but I love the typical teenage comments on his twitter. In about a year or two he's gonna have an influx of Hfboarders latch on as followers.

Stats from the league he played in.

It says his hometown is Essex Fells, NJ. Wouldn't he be American then?

I guess it's his choice though.

He's born in Essex, but Marty made sure his kids all have dual citizenship.

In the end, it'll be Anthony's choice where he wants to play. He could do either one. It depends which country wants him more. Don't be surprised however if he plays for Team USA.

I've never seen him play hockey but I love "No Reservations" on the Travel Channel.

Roomtemperature 01-05-2011 02:53 PM

the way dual citizenship works in the u.s. though, he'll have to choose one once he is 18, so i guess we'll find out then what he considers himself.

Parise9Crosby87 01-05-2011 03:39 PM

How does that work exactly? Not being snarky, just curious.

Canadian parents. Automatically gets citizenship as a son of Canadians born on foreign soil. AFAIK.

Yes, that is true for hockey purposes. Once you play an over 18 tournament for a country that is your country under IIHF rules. Know I don't know if he is good enough to eventually make a World Junior roster (for whatever country). That's not me knocking him, I'm just not sure how good he is.

He is a dual citizen though. I wouldn't be shocked if he does reach that level if he picks the US. I do know he played his minor hockey in NJ.
