And with that, Alex ****ing Picard is a staple in our top 6.

Pierre, fix this. NOW.

roy munson 01-06-2011 05:33 PM

That's a tough one to swallow. Just great...

What do you think wisniewski was. Gauthier looks like a genius for pulling that one off now.

Mue 01-06-2011 05:34 PM

Ouch.

Hopefully they can get by without making another trade (and giving up an asset). Weber has his chance now.

Dude, I'm as disappointed as you are, but this is not Martin's fault. Gorges was more than willing to go out there and play.

Still, crap. Let's hope Hamrlik only misses tonight's game.

I'm just disappointed at the fact Martin (and the coaching staff for that matter) didn't have the sense to say "enough's enough" at one point. The guy was clearly banged up and they let him go out there. There was no way he was going to sit himself out, that's not the kind of guy he is. This isn't the playoffs where you can have surgery after the season is over and play injured.

Delat 01-06-2011 05:35 PM

The only good news now is Martin won't be able to bench Subban anymore...

The Canadiens medical staff must be paid to twiddle their thumbs, I guess.

That's the medical staff's job dude, not Martin's.

Rutabaga 01-06-2011 05:36 PM

Well, i am quite unhappy because it was quite clear that Gorges was playing injured since at the very least a couple of weeks, and he could have used some rest, since we have 7 other D ready to play.

I seriously hope for them that this didnt affect his injury, and he was needing surgery anyway...
Still, our chances for this year are done, but Weber and Subban will be able to play more now.

(The number of injuries we have over the last 2 years is quite big, and i dont like it...is the medical staff really working ?)

Galchenyuk27 01-06-2011 05:36 PM

WHAT THE ****

Crushing blow to our season, really...winning will be even more difficult now.

**** this.

It was much more important to ensure PK got benched instead. What a freaking ******.

Mister Tazzi 01-06-2011 05:37 PM

Confirmed on CKAC by Villeneuve and Pednault... Bad, bad news...

Oh, we'll make a trade to fix that.

FF de Mars 01-06-2011 05:38 PM

Oh boy. Good lord. Good luck Weber ! Proove us that we don't need to re-sign Hammer next year.

sheed36 01-06-2011 05:38 PM

Well that sucks.. :( Another huge blow to the Habs backend..

And you think the medical staff hadn't caught on he was banged up and told Martin about it? :dunno:

That's probably the worst part about this news in the short term.

Hope Josh has a full recovery and plays well next year.

What is with this team and their knees?

So what now? We can't go into the playoffs without a reliable D man like Gorges. Have to make a trade again....

Lars The GOAT Eller 01-06-2011 05:40 PM

How much cap space now? 8.5m?

Get well soon josh.

x-bob 01-06-2011 05:41 PM

Well **** happens! This is a huge blow to the team and it will make things rather tough.

Bill McNeal 01-06-2011 05:41 PM

Odds are he knew he was injured and tried to put off the inevitable and it eventually caught up to him.

When the medical staff says a player is not in condition to play, Jacques Martin cannot play the player.

I guess Martin yelled at them and talked about his destiny to beat the Maple Leafs in the playoffs or something.

Ooh Martin is a monster! Oooooooh.

I suggest therapy for this place.

Richiebottles 01-06-2011 05:41 PM

Kaberle to Montreal. I was the First to say it.
