Benoit Pouliot's decision not to change made all the difference for the Montreal Canadiens.

Pouliot, out of gas at the end of a shift, scored at 6:03 of the third period to snap a 1-1 tie as the Montreal Canadiens edged the New York Rangers 2-1 on Tuesday night.

"I was pretty tired, actually," Pouliot said about his goal, a bad-angled shot from the lower left circle that went over Henrik Lundqvist's blocker. "I was going to change. I had to change. My whole line was changing, but then I saw one of their guys changing and I caught him flat-footed, went around him. I saw Lundqvist kind of cheat a little bit maybe on the pass across to (Travis) Moen and I just put it up high."

The goal marred what was an outstanding performance by Lundqvist, who was named to his second straight All-Star Game earlier in the day. He made 36 saves, but it was Pouliot's shot that will keep him up tonight.

Ah , yes my mistake. Well actually, it's the right face and stats, but wrong name. Dubinsky was supposed to go there!

EDIT: Fixed it ;) Thanks!

Plante 01-15-2011 02:20 AM

Vancouver messed up their streak at the wrong time, got me raging. Hopefully we can take this game in regulation, every point is going to be seemingly vital from here on out.

owedoyle 01-15-2011 02:46 AM

Rangers fan here, gotta say, that's a really nice GDT! Well done.

Hoping for a great game.

Bonne Chance!

Very nice GDT Hopefully the Habs can shake off the last one and come out and kick butt and get 2 points in regulation. We need to get on a roll.:yo:

Fish on The Sand 01-15-2011 04:02 AM

Martin Biron to be starting in nets

WeezyHabFan 01-15-2011 10:09 AM

Just an awesome GDT good job! Got money riding on this one, with one of my buddies whos a Rangers fan so hopefully Cammy and the boys get scoring tonight

Le Tricolore 01-15-2011 10:16 AM

I'll be there. I hope the Canadiens win.

Natural Habs Fan 01-15-2011 10:16 AM

I just hope the game is as good as the GDT. I am a bit disappointed with our attack lately. I remember reading that Martin wanted the team to focus on offense this year but I still haven't seen it.

Maliki2 01-15-2011 10:24 AM

Back from vacation can't wait to watch the game. I was lucky to even get score updates in Florida!
