At tonight's Predators-Blackhawks game, they had this jersey on display at the silent auction table where they auction off memorabilia for charity. The card next to this jersey identified it as a "limited edition" jersey that will be auctioned off for the Predators Foundation.

I Will Son 01-16-2011 03:02 PM

Our home games next year are gonna look sick with our current 3rds and those all through out the arena

JohniusMaximus 01-16-2011 03:03 PM

I'll be in the minority and I know it but...yick.

worstfaceoffmanever 01-16-2011 03:23 PM

Beats what we have now.

66Falconboy 01-16-2011 03:50 PM

I like the one we have now. I think these are too plain.

codeyh 01-16-2011 04:00 PM

our away jerseys are pretty weak as is... but this needs something more.

101st_fan 01-16-2011 04:04 PM

Let's keep changing jerseys as a marketing plan. We can be the MLB, NFL, etc.

It isn't a bad jersey, but the same flaws in the 3rds are still quite evident such as the nearly indistinguishable checkerboard pattern beyond about 5 feet.

Sometimes, less is more:

The only real issue I see is with the checkerboard pattern, which was a problem I had with the alternate when it was first introduced. Reducing it to simple stripes would work better..

One of my biggest problems with a lot of the "new" sweaters around the league is that they are all so obviously influenced by the old Leafs jerseys. The other current popular options are circular logo (Blues and Bugs come to mind immediately) or the slanted text city or shortened name jerseys (Minny, Sens, Bolts). As heinous as the mooterus was, it was distinctive. The mustards were distinctive. Now its all minor variations on tried and tested themes.

Nitrous Mafia 01-17-2011 02:06 AM

Dont care; bring back the mustard.

PredsV82 01-17-2011 11:26 AM

no big deal. this just jives with the rumored(?confirmed) plan to make the current black and blue 3rd the regular home jersey next season. Thus the away jersey would be a "negative" of the home.

I like them, but I am in agreement with 101st... we dont need to keep doing this every two or three years.. lets keep these for at least 5 years, and not have a new third for at least two more years. (and if we do have another third, bring back a version of the mustard)

Jarnberg 01-17-2011 11:45 AM

I don't think you will have to worry about the team doing this every few years. The first jersey change was the league wide switch to Reebok. This would be our first decision to change it up.

I like our current jerseys, but I think the new third (and the rumored away) are a big step up from our current jerseys.

I don't consider that a flaw. I think it's those kind of little touches that make it one of the better jerseys on the league.

I like the look of it, yes its simple but it looks good with out adding unnecessary designs to make it look better, when they dont always look so.

barrytrotzsneck 01-17-2011 04:14 PM

Less is more when it comes to jersies. Our current home is one I've never liked...the colors and piping are very 90s roller hockey, and the sleeves make it look like a shortsleeve t-shirt with a white hoodie underneath. The away aren't much better.

These have a very crisp, clean, classic look...without being TOO clean(see Dallas Stars).

I hope this comes to be.

Looks like that's not the case, current 3rd is staying the 3rd...

http://www.icethetics.info

Confirmed the same information they're getting, Reebok's 2011 catalog shows space for a new home and away, with the third staying put.

I think the Predators 'yellow' will still be in the equation.

Joe T Choker 01-18-2011 10:13 AM

So there will be completely new home & away jerseys ... awesome

that makes no sense. the new away is just a 'negative" of the third. So how will they make a new home that looks significantly different from the B&B third, but still looks similar to a "negative" of the away?

Maybe that white isn't a "new away" but it was a prototype and they scrapped it and made decision to keep the 3rd as the 3rd?

that certainly is possible, which would explain the "limited edition" status of the "white 3rds"

but I think that its clear the primary color scheme is going to be black, blue and white, with no gold, or else why repaint the Bridge? And if thats true I think its going to be hard to make new homes that dont look a lot like the current 3rds...

codeyh 01-18-2011 11:49 AM

Maybe the white jersey was originally planned to be the away jersey when they switched, before they backed out (previous to this season), and now they're only wearing them to the GnashVegas gala?

Just a thought. :)

Legionnaire11 01-18-2011 12:26 PM

Maybe the Reebok catalog is not complete, and the current 3rd and rumored whites are really going to be the home/away jerseys next season.

If you walk thru the ProShop and look at the newer t-shirts for Weber and Tootoo, take a wild guess at what will PROBABLY be be next.
