Two way Top Four defenseman to San Jose.

With the recent acquisitions it looks like the sharks are getting ready to trade for a defenseman. McGinn, McCarthy, Ferriero, Mitchell, Josilin, to a lesser extent Seto, and Huskins are all possible players that will be moved. Only untouchable prospects are Braun, Coyle, Doherty. Doubt we trade our first, but I imagine our other picks are in play. We are looking for a mobile top 4 defenseman with a good breakout pass, having a good shot or the ability to carry the puck are pluses.

tom gilbert for cap dump not named heatley.

White Goodman 01-18-2011 04:03 PM

Kuba for McGinn.

CommanderShepard15 01-18-2011 04:26 PM

IMO Petrecki is also untouchable. Hes a mean SOB and should be kept for the sake of not having to at some point play aginst him. And he's greatly improved over last year

Brock Anton 01-18-2011 04:26 PM

Joni Pitkanen?

Leafssss 01-18-2011 04:27 PM

Heard about some guy named Beauchemin

Crede777 01-18-2011 04:30 PM

Fedor Tyutin?

His big weakness is when he gets pressured in his own end. He's more valuable to the Jackets than most Jackets fans realize, but maybe Tyutin + for Setoguchi or something to do with San Jose's 1st + a player?

foshizzle11 01-18-2011 04:30 PM

steve staois....take him

goon5516 01-18-2011 04:34 PM

andy greene ? would prob come cheap and doesnt make a ton of $$$$$ and UFA at end of year!

I really don't think Sharks fans know anything about him.

I think Tyutin makes a lot of sense for SJ. I think he can do everything pretty well, but nothing spectacular. He's in ideal top 4 dman. Something around Tyutin and Seto might be good for both teams. Something like Seto and Huskins for Tyutin and Dorsett

AfroThunder396 01-18-2011 04:57 PM

Sounds like Andy Greene is your man.

Conditional 3rd in 2011 that turns into a 2nd if he re-signs with SJ.

I would absolutely take Pitkanen for the right price.

I am hoping the Hawks are all over this closer to the deadline.

Pinkfloyd 01-18-2011 05:12 PM

Two-way would be nice but not overly concerned about the defensive side of the d-man at this point. The highest priority for a top four needs to be their puck-moving ability. They need someone who will do that in all three zones and be an offensive presence just as much as they need someone for their outlet pass. When you have Murray, Vlasic, and Wallin that are all defensive d-men (even if one of them sucks horribly), you don't need to add another stay-at-home guy that doesn't get involved offensively.

what about Babchuk? he moves the puck decently, smaller cap hit, pending UFA and a cannon on the PP...

Babchuk for a 2nd?

Oroku Saki* 01-18-2011 05:56 PM

Greene for a 2012 3rd.

You'll love Greene, please take. Can have Salmela for a 4th too

Oroku Saki* 01-18-2011 06:04 PM

No one is taking Salmela when they could of had him for free on waivers.

Greene would be good under Julien, not too sure about Todd McClellan.

beauchemin for charlie coyle. Sorry dude but i'm afraid coyle is NOT untouchable

There would be riots if Doug did this trade. Beauch is barely worth a 3rd, let alone one of our top prospects.
