Joe Pavelski to Toronto...

What would it take??

To San Jose
Francois Beauchemim
Luca Caputi

To Toronto
Joe Pavelski
Andrew Desjardins

Thoughts?

To trade Pavelski the Sharks would require at least Schenn....

SuperSaiyanBeastmode 01-22-2011 12:56 AM

Not enough imo, a signed kaberle and gunnarsson might do it. Would rather not do that though... we just gotta wait on kadri.

Depends on Kaberle's contract too...

BillR10 01-22-2011 01:15 AM

No not even close. The only way the sharks would deal pavs would be for a top pairing 2way dman. Contrary to Toronto fans apparent messiah of hockey knowledge, eklund, the sharks have pretty much no interest in what toronto has to offer. Especially not for any of our top 7 forwards, please stop trying and furthering tarnishing the names of leaf fans on this site. Thanks

DrFeelgood 01-22-2011 01:17 AM

This isn't even close. While Pavelski is having a down year stats wise, he's extremely valuable to the team in leadership and he has shown that he's one of the only players on the team that will elevate his game in the playoffs.

The proposed trade would actually be a massive downgrade for the Sharks, IMO.

Lmao. I was gonna come in and make a joke about Jfried saying "beaucheman + 3rd" or something. Then saw the OP proposal and died a little inside.

I don't think it does... Pavelski is a pretty good young center, that tends to be a hard asset to acquire. Kaberle obviously would have some value, but I think he wants to stay in the East so, it's unlikely he'd waive a NTC to go West (and I don't think he'll re-sign without one)

Minicoop831 01-22-2011 01:30 AM

Seriously? Do people even think before they post these trade proposals?

LMAO, pretty much you proposed Francois Beauchemim for Joe Pavelski, how dumb can this get

Yes
If I was a Toronto fan I would try to think of ways to rip off other teams while trying to convince them it was a good deal.

To be fair, didn't you just post Pavelski + 2nd for Seabrook? Where do the Sharks sign up?

Seabrook is also a FAR superior player to Beauchemin

*waits for the obligatory Beachemin is a perfect fit for the Sharks from a Leafs fan reply*

It is a fair deal since the Sharks need a top 2 D-man and they have Pavelski,Couture, Thornton and Marleau all as top 2 centers

SJ isn't trading Pavelski. They'll be able to add a defenceman for draft pick(s)/prospect(s) at the deadline.

Sure would take one big idiot to be convinced by a deal like that lol

I've always seen it. No doubt SJ would want Beauchemin, but not at the cost of Pavelski. If they could get him for picks they would absolutely do so, but that's not what the OP proposed. They'll pick up the best possible rental available rather than trading a significant player from their roster.

Well Burkie was pretty smart look at the DION deal.
Burke: Sutter how about i give you a bunch of quality 2nd/3rd line players for you star defender?
Sutter: Really?? deal! i'll even throw in Aulie a very good prospect to make the deal more fair on your end

More like:

Burke: Sutter how about I take your significantly overpaid dumb defenceman while giving you 3 valuable players all earning their contracts?

Sutter: Really? deal! I'll even throw in Keith Aulie becuase I want to give Leafs fans a token gesture of upside in the deal.

EternallyLeafs 01-22-2011 02:15 AM

lol, get it done Burke.
