Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #52 vs. Florida Panthers
Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy

The Alexander Frolov Memorial Trophy is awarded to the player who most exemplifies the qualities that Alex brought to the ice game in and game out. Most notable was his talent for wraparounds. Thusly, this award is given to the player who has the most wraparound attempts throughout the game.

The award tonight goes to Sean Avery & Marian Gaborik, both with 1 wraparound attempt against Florida.

Not Lundqvist.

Boyle and Zuccarello were the best players easily.

TrollololBoyle 01-25-2011 08:38 PM

Player of the Game: Zuccarello (3 assists)
The Good: Everyone played very well tonight.
The Bad: Nobody really
The Redden: AnisiPov

Will the real Artem Anisimov please stand up!

Abooch68 01-25-2011 08:38 PM

I think the Panthers had two shots in third.. There was a 2-1 right after the goal..

ceej730 01-25-2011 08:39 PM

stomach is still in a not with this one
Zucca gets player of the game
the bad would have to be our power play as usual
the redden: kind of obvious...panthers 4th goal

Ail 01-25-2011 08:39 PM

Player of the Game: Zucc! Dude was a menace tonight.

The good: Brian Boyle, Prust... Drury, kinda.

The bad: Avery's inability to do anything with the puck when he forechecks/creates space.

The Redden: Terrible luck.

Mint Berry Crunch 01-25-2011 08:39 PM

Player of the Game: Mats Zuccarello, assisted on every Ranger goal. Looked real energetic out there.
The Good: PP looked better, Stepan taking more shots, MDZ playing well. Boyler looked great.
The Bad: ..Drury still can't score. The Panthers beat us. PP, though improved, still not that good.
The Redden: While I understand it was purely circumstantial & flukey, the two deflections off Anisimov killed us.

Loffen 01-25-2011 08:39 PM

POTG: AA and his two goals.

oklahomahockeyfan 01-25-2011 08:40 PM

Disappointing loss. We played well, bull **** goal to win it for them....

Player of the game for me is Boyle

The Good: The comeback in the 3rd
The Bad: Didn't get any points.
The Redden: Anisimovs goals for the other team... Epically that last one

WeWillWinTonight 01-25-2011 08:40 PM

Bad: The hole in my wall

Placid 01-25-2011 08:41 PM

PoTG : Zuccarello
The good : The team as a whole continues to work very hard.
The bad : Henriks game today. Cant say it was his fault, that would be very unfair, but im sure he'd have liked at least one or two of them back.
The Redden : Florida's lucky bounces

ceej730 01-25-2011 08:41 PM

flipping channel to versus to see Montreal getting spanked made me feel somewhat better

mike14 01-25-2011 08:42 PM

Voted for MZA over Boyle and Prust

the good - still working hard and never giving up. The D was good again and for the most part the forwards were all working well together.

The bad - losing, PP still needs work, faceoffs still suck

The Redden - nothing

Hanke 01-25-2011 08:43 PM

I really want that MZA gift lol

silverfish 01-25-2011 08:43 PM

The good: zuccarello
The bad: Torts overusing Drury
The Redden: Hockey gods

Let's get healthy

WhiskeyDeke 01-25-2011 08:43 PM

Player of the Game: Prust looked great, and obv Mats.
The Good: Stepan really coming on
The Bad: Softies.
The Redden: Physics and timing.

Nemchinov13 01-25-2011 08:44 PM

Florida has had the luckiest win this season. They did not outwork, outhustle, outhit us... They just got the luckiest bounce I've ever seen. I feel bad for Anisimov. Wow. Twice!

DoTheBlue 01-25-2011 08:44 PM

POTG - Frodo

The Good - Another nice comeback
The Bad - Avery
The Redden - The puck bounces. Seriously 1 shot in the 3rd and it goes in off a Ranger?
The Unlucky - Anisimov

Killem Dafoe 01-25-2011 08:46 PM

Player of the game was Anisimov by faaarrr.

Rust Heisenberg 01-25-2011 08:46 PM

The Good: Zucarello
The Bad: The refs and Linesmen
The Redden: Luck in general

The non-offside call, leading to such an unlikely off-balance wrist shot upper 90 goal...

Boyle missed catching a puck which leads to a goal a second later...

The countless amount of opportunities we missed...

Not our night. Refs did an awful job. Felt like this was a road game the entire time. :shakehead

NCRanger 01-25-2011 08:47 PM

Player of the game: Mats Zuccarello
The Good: The fact this team doesn't give up.
The Bad: Lundqvist on Florida goals #2 and #3.
The Redden: A no-talent a$$-clown team like Florida getting every bounce to "win" a game.

darko 01-25-2011 08:48 PM

POTG: Zucca

The Good: Zucca, Boyle
The Bad: Avery, Drury
The Redden: no-one

Killem Dafoe 01-25-2011 08:48 PM

next game we play there very well could be a Callahan and Prospal in there. i cant wait for Prospal and Gabby to reunite so we dont have to see these retards playing with him. seriously? avery? he has no ****ing hockey IQ he just speeds it into the zone and passes to someone who can score and hopes for points. Wolski Step Zuke line is amazing we need Duby Prospal Gabby line up there too. Cally on the third..mmmm lets do this.

Killem Dafoe 01-25-2011 08:50 PM

Hank hahaha 13 saves on 17 shots. jesus christ on a cracker

JeffMangum 01-25-2011 08:51 PM

POTG: Zuccarello, despite all the assists being secondary ;)
Good: Brian mother****ing Boyle, Gaborik, McDonagh
Bad: Drury can't score for the life of him, Lundqvist
The Redden: Gilroy on the GWG
