Tyler Myers' Contract

Base Salary of $875,000
Bonus of $425,000
Total Cap hit of $1,300,000

Does anyone know the details of what his bonus metric is? According to CapGeek the hit is automatically factored in, so I'd have to assume that means he automatically or nearly automatically gets it, but then if he automatically gets it doesn't that make the max rookie salary redundant?

Just curious, he's one of the only guys on the team getting a bonus and I'm curious to know why that is, does it have something to do with winning the Calder?

Bonuses are assumed to count until they become unattainable on capgeek if I'm not mistaken, so without knowing the terms of the bonuses capgeek just assumes the player will meet the requirements and then at the end of the season correct for the difference.

Most rookies don't get all their bonuses. Some of it is unrealistic stuff like winning the Conn Smythe, winning the Hart, etc.

2. The Performance Bonus Cushion - A team may exceed the Upper Limit by up to 7.5% due to performance bonuses. All performance bonuses, earned or not, count against the cap. If a bonus becomes impossible to achieve, then the team gets a cap credit back for the remainder of that season. At the end of the year, if the actual bonuses earned cause the team to exceed the Upper Limit, that excess is applied against the following seasons cap.

Only players on entry level contracts and veterans aged 35 or greater who meet certain conditions are eligible for performance bonuses.

my guess would be some of it has to do with games played? Maybe like someone said it has to do with trophies
