Brendon Nash called-up (Sent back down)

As per canadiens twitter

odd

JMMR 02-15-2011 09:32 AM

Nash called up

I fear the worst for Gill.

overlords 02-15-2011 09:33 AM

That's interesting. It's either Gill is out longterm, or they're dealing a d-man.

Also, R.I.P Hamilton Bulldogs.

ahabsfanfromtoronto 02-15-2011 09:34 AM

Oh boy

Gill likely out for a while too...or a trade

Canadian_Brewtality 02-15-2011 09:35 AM

Gill was on the ice this morning skating alone

Would they have placed him on IR already?

antoniojr 02-15-2011 09:36 AM

oooh boy...

WeezyHabFan 02-15-2011 09:36 AM

This isnt cricket :sarcasm:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brendan_Nash

But seriously.... We gotta be trading a Dman or else were in trouble at the blue line

417 02-15-2011 09:37 AM

Gotta love this time a year lol

VAN-HAB 02-15-2011 09:37 AM

Picard not even a short term solution

FrankMTL 02-15-2011 09:38 AM

Poor Carle, first put on waivers, now he's being passed on the depth chart by other d-men in Hamilton not named Weber and Subban.

What's not to like about Nash though...very impressive first year in Hamilton. And he's a big boy at 6 foot 3.

Has anybody seen him play? Does he play big or is he kinda like Picard in the sense that he won't get pushed around, but doesn't initiate contact either?

AFAIK, he's solid both ways, but not very physical.

playbedar 02-15-2011 09:39 AM

Anybody know what kind of player Nash is? He has very decent stats with the Bulldogs, I didn't even know we had that guy in our system.

EDIT: Nevermind, too slow

Seems unlikely.

Please I want juicy details. Never seen him play but only ever hear good things from my dad and people on HF.

He made a good impression in preseason if memory serves. Very steady, and even had a goal I think.

PricePkPatch 02-15-2011 09:41 AM

Wow. We are really depleting our farm team. I hope we still have a few good prospects there...?

Never a good idea to kill the golden egg geese. Maybe we should send Gomez there to help shape up the younglings. :sarcasm:

417 02-15-2011 09:41 AM

Apparently Spacek isn't at morning skate (assuming he's injured) and that's why Nash was recalled

My feeling as well. Can't wait to see what he can do on the big stage

It does, but it depends more on Gill's injury. If he's done, then I doubt we're moving a d-man. Though i think PG has been shopping Weber.

Tuggy 02-15-2011 09:43 AM

Probably calling him up so he can practice with the team and go out West with them in case they need another body.

Stjonnypopo 02-15-2011 09:43 AM

So we're losing a D-man either by trade or injury. I'll assume Gill is out for an undetermined amount of time, I like how Picard isn't being bumped into the line-up:laugh:

Maybe I've got it all wrong and we're just calling Nash up as a 7th defenceman, but it would be really funny if Picard had to sit out next game.

Watsatheo 02-15-2011 09:44 AM

I can't wait to see what he can do. He really impressed me in pre season and the few games I've seen in the AHL.

didouche 02-15-2011 09:44 AM

according to team 990, spacek wasn't on the ice this morning
