Kings vs. Rangers - 02/17/11 - POSTGAME THOUGHTS & TIDBITS

Kings played well overall given the circumstances. At least we got a point out of it. What a streak we have going! We are back in it folks! Onto the next game! GO KINGS GO!

Cruel11 02-17-2011 08:42 PM

So Kopi now sucks in shootouts. Noted.

DAkings20 02-17-2011 08:43 PM

Brown showed up

Kopi continues to suck

Atleast we got a point.

Orenji 02-17-2011 08:43 PM

Kopitar is just...ugh. I can't take it.

And can we not let Bernier play shootouts anymore? Nothing against him, but he just got embarrassed and was lucky to save the third one on the all or nothing dive.

Bernier is 0-2. Quick is 7-0.

Bernier wasnt even close.

Hes a joke.

Puck U 02-17-2011 08:43 PM

So about trading Bernier for Hemsky :D

BringTheReign 02-17-2011 08:44 PM

Bernier half redeemed himself with that poke check...and Kopitar goes against his strength and shoots.

I'm pissed off and excited at the same time. 13 of 16 points on an 8 game road trip is outstanding, but that 14th point would have been nice tonight. :p:

DocWest 02-17-2011 08:44 PM

I'll take that point! JB needs to brush up on his SO skills, fosho.

Lucky to get a point.

END of Shoot-Out / GAME

KINGS LOSE, but get 1 point and move into 8th.

last 4 games have been 2 back to back sets and they come away with 7 points. Very happy with a point tonight, was so happy with the point that i was able to just sit back and lol at Berniers shootout goaltending

Herby 02-17-2011 08:45 PM

Stoll's shootout move is unstoppable. He obviously needs to be our #1 shooter every shootout.

Amazing how one guy can be so great at one thing (shootout) and so terrible on another (PP)

William H Bonney 02-17-2011 08:45 PM

All things considered, the point is huge.

Brown stepped up tonight. Hopefully he's out of that valley and climbing now.

Johnson was an absolute monster defensively tonight. What an effort.

That poke check was lucky. He kept on getting embarrassed, so he just dove for the puck and didn't let Wolski make any other moves.

I'm happy with a point, but we could have stole two. Kopitar is just ugh right now. He looked lazy. The third goal should be on his and Bernier's shoulders. His half ass playing led to us almost losing.

KingKopitar11 02-17-2011 08:45 PM

what the hell is wrong with kopitar, 2 for 8. cmon. i know hes trying but he cant do **** anymore

FrozenKing18 02-17-2011 08:45 PM

Brown showed up!

Kings played well! 1 point! Lets keep getting them points!

Yeah, we get how you feel about Kopitar. You get your every game quota of 10 Kopitar complaints in today.

JBernierFan 02-17-2011 08:46 PM

Wow, the other thread was closed before the game was even over! LOL

That was terrible by Kopi on the SO. Did he not see the Ranger's shots? What happened to some creativity? He doesn't have a good enough shot like Stoll's snap shot.

I know you will all blame Bernier tonight, but he kept us in the game IMO. He gave up a few softies, but he also faced 37 shots. If it wasn't for some huge big saves when the Kings left him to dry, we wouldn't have even been in a position to get a point out of this game.

I for one am happy that Brown actually played like himself.

I'm also happy with the point considering what a sloppy game we played. Luckily we have tomorrow to rest before the Saturday game with just a little trip up the road to Long Island.

AKAY47 02-17-2011 08:46 PM

KK so at worst, in which position will we by the end of the night? Like who wins the tiebreaker between us & anaheim right now? We've both got the same points, same amount of wins and have played the same amount of games

DocWest 02-17-2011 08:46 PM

Also, I'm so pumped that Brown got his groove back. Now if we can get Kopi scoring again...watch out!

johnjm22 02-17-2011 08:46 PM

Both goals Bernier gave up in the shootout were excellent moves. You can't fault him on either one.

They were nice moves, but Bernier was WAAAAAY too out of the goal. He's just not that great on shootouts. Not his fault, but Quick has made saves on similar moves this season.
