Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden: Game #61 vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Player of the Game & The Good, The Bad, The Redden

The RulesWhat is the poll for?

You are voting for the player of the game - the one who put forth the most effort, who put the team on his shoulders, who contributed the most.

Do not vote for the player who had the best statistical game just because he had the best statistical game.

This does not mean you should not vote for the player of who had the best statistical game, but do not vote for him just because of that fact.

Who can I vote for?

You may vote for any player who dressed for the game and played at least one shift. If the player you want to vote for is not included in the poll, select "Other" and indicate in your post who you wish to vote for. In the case that I egregiously miss the player who everyone wants to vote for in the poll, I will count the votes in the thread.

What is this "The Good, The Bad, The Redden" nonsense?

It is my twist on the title of the famous spaghetti western movie, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Since multiple players may have outstanding games and you can only vote for one player in the poll, this affords you the opportunity to recognize multiple players, or a facet of the team, for their commendable play ("The Good"). This also affords you the opportunity to rip players, or a facet of the team, for their particularly substandard play ("The Bad"). Finally, just as "The Player of the Game" affords you the opportunity to recognize the best, this affords you the opportunity to commend the crème de la crème of the worst, who delivered an atrocious performance, or whose singular (or multiple) bad plays directly led to the the detriment of the team ("The Redden").

The award tonight goes to Ryan Callahan, Marian Gaborik, Marc Staal, & Wojtek Wolski, each with 1 wraparound attempt against Philadelphia.

The Redden: Zebras.

MrEctions 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

So nice to know we can count on our two "elite" players to come through for us in a game like this. Hank with the soft gamewinner, go figure. And Gabby..............

Barbara Underhill 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

Biron all the way.

Loffen 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

Dan Carcillo.

nyr2k2 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

Another ****** outcome.

McDonagh was good.

Wraparounds 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

This one goes to Ryan McDonagh and it isn't even close. Honorable mention to Derek Stepan though.

BlueshirtBlitz 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

Redden: This team, the refs, this season, everything.

I can't get so emotionally vested in this team. This month is a slap in the face of anybody who has supported this team.

Nosferatos 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

One word: **** the refs! :shakehead

Machinehead 02-20-2011 02:06 PM

POTG: McD, he's miles ahead of Del Zotto already.

The Good: My ass

The Bad: Everything

The Redden: We suck

Couldnt agree more, Hank has been terrible for us through this stretch.

Moosehead777 02-20-2011 02:07 PM

Fire Tortorella!!!!!!!

GWOW 02-20-2011 02:07 PM

Why the hell is Henrik on the list?

7th time in 10 games Henrik had a SVPCT under .90

BrooklynRangersFan 02-20-2011 02:07 PM

Still waiting on the update on Gabby...

WeWillWinTonight 02-20-2011 02:07 PM

What exactly would happen if Torts was fired? (Directed at all those advocating this change)

Not saying your wrong or right, curious as to what it will do?

silverfish 02-20-2011 02:08 PM

PotG: Stepan; honorable mention to McD

**** everything else

Crease 02-20-2011 02:08 PM

I don't understand the whole dump-and-chase philosophy when you're down late in the third period.

HatTrick Swayze 02-20-2011 02:08 PM

What a disciplined effort from the Flyers.

Machinehead 02-20-2011 02:08 PM

To me it's an unwritten rule that if you score 2 or less you can't under any circumstances blame the goalie.

His pinky hurts.....The guy is just not a gamer, period. Sure he'll score four against a team like Toronto, but when the team needs to lean on him, where is he? I would honestly think about listening to offers for him. ITs not that I dont like him, he just doesnt fit the mold of this team at all.

But he's a Torts kind of guy...but you wouldn't know that around HF these days.

TomLaidlaw 02-20-2011 02:09 PM

Are you telling me that in this day and age with twitter and blogs that not one of our beat reporters know what is wrong with Gaborik?

Honestly, I'm not a huge Torts fan - I wanted Laviolette when we fired Renney - but it's not his fault at all that this team doesn't have enough high end scoring talent. We knew this was where our team was when we entered the season.

FOXHOUND* 02-20-2011 02:09 PM

Rangers are a bad team. If you can't see that get your eyes checked
