Well...... that's not good.

coolbean04 02-20-2011 03:28 PM

Looks like season is over.

Just watch, Devils will end up finishing ahead of us by the end of the season.

Loffen 02-20-2011 03:28 PM

How can you let a guy play with a concussion?

AJRanger 02-20-2011 03:28 PM

Well, that might explain some things.

Wraparounds 02-20-2011 03:28 PM

****ing eh.

Fitzy 02-20-2011 03:29 PM

Sounds to me like the kind of thing that could be season-ending for Gaborik.

FutureGM97 02-20-2011 03:29 PM

A concussion? with everything that has happened the last 2-3 years with head injuries and they are playing him? WTF

rangers4ever2007 02-20-2011 03:29 PM

I'm sure the the Rangers medical staff/coaching staff had no clue.

A sprained wrist could end his season, the guy recovers extremely slow.

I loved the people in the GDT saying things like Gabby needs to sack up and play in this game. Every tough guy/leader would be playing right now no matter what the injury is.

He hasn't contributed much this year anyways, so if their season is over its not because we lost Gaborik.

Both of which have nothing to do with this latest injury.

I'm guessing they didn't know and he didn't tell them, because he wanted to play and help the team. My guess is that he finally realized he wasn't going to be able to "shake it" and told the trainer. They then tested him and realized he's been playing with a concussion all along. Wouldn't surprise me if it happened a long time ago and has been affecting him off and on for a while.

Concussions are different then any other injury you get in hockey. Each person is different, but you know the medical staff will go through every possible test there needs to be done before they allow him to skate or play another game.

And for the team he plays for.

Wonder what our GM is thinking of doing now with a what 8 days to the deadline.

I know all this... He's slow to recover from any sort of injury hence my comment.

You might be onto something here.

No disrespect to the player Gaborik is, but he hasn't exactly been winning us games single handedly this year.

He has had a few big ones and that has been about it.

Ya know what, we bring up some one from Conn and lets forget Gabby. This team has a very nice young nucleus and I think an injection of youth will be a good thing. The Whale fill ins seem to do a real nice job when the injuries occurred. The injuries came back and all of a sudden this .400 - .500 play has been too persistent. Very frustrating. This team has never really needed to count on Gaborik most of the year to win anyway. May be a blessing.

Concussions, more specifically, the severity of concussions are very very hard to determine. I would not be surprised if nobody had a clue about it, perhaps Gaborik didn't even have symptoms right away.
