Demitra Fan Club

I am all for getting Demitra in here. He immediately jumps onto our first line as a center, which we desperately need. He helps take pressure off the kids a little, by having a good first line. He's only 29...so lets figure it takes us 3-5 years to finally have a team that is ready to compete for the cup, he will only be 32-34, and probably still in his prime. He'd be a nice guy to build around. Plus he is a class act.

Lets hear some reactions.

How about a reaction from Demitra himself?

"I won't play in New York no matter what the price."

Kinda kills this thread, doesn't it?

If the Rangers were going to sign one center...

and they had a choice between Demitra and Conroy and both were amenable to coming here, I'd probably pick Conroy. He's inferior offensive-wise, but his defensive skills make up for that, as well as his leadership skills and penalty kill ability. He can play a top line, a second line or a checking line. Good versatile forward to have at the right price.
