Ryan McDonagh (Knee)

Torts just said it was day-to-day, they're going to monitor for swelling.

Thank freaking god.

Fitzy 03-03-2011 08:59 PM

I wasn't worried about this season so much as for the career of a kid who could be a very good NHL defenseman for a very long time.

Good to hear it is minor.

17futurecap 03-03-2011 09:00 PM

Good I hope to get a McDonagh tee when I go MSG this Sunday, hope they make them.

Loffen 03-03-2011 09:00 PM

Looked akward. Screw the Garden ice.

qwertyaas 03-03-2011 09:44 PM

That looked quite painful. Much like watching the game...

NicksRangersWire 03-03-2011 10:29 PM

That is great news. Rangers can't afford to lose to McDonagh. I really thought he was seriously hurt after watching the replay.

Same.

And welcome to the madness, newb. ;)

NYRFAN218 03-03-2011 10:33 PM

Good news on McD. The Garden ice has always been atrocious but it looks like it's been even worse lately. I don't think I've seen the puck bounce as much as it has in the past week.

Puckface NYR* 03-03-2011 10:56 PM

Not to be a stickler.....and i realize McD could develop quicker by playing more games....but does it really matter this point.

This team isn't going anywhere even if we make the playoffs. Which at this point, seems like a real long shot.

Yes.

It gives me a legitimate reason to watch the Rangers.

well...theres where you and i differ. Up until tonight i'd been a huge advocate of this team and their effort but watching the full 55 minutes (after avery scored) they are seriously missing something that puts them even in playoff talk.

Maybe its my age, even though we aren't that far apart. But watching this team struggle for 14 years, since the ECF showing against the flyers has really put me in the mindset to expect the worst.

Watching this team for one player just isnt what i want to be doing with my time.

If this team has tought me one thing its patience and for once, im starting to wear and tear just like the rest of the roster.

I love this team to death but in the offseason some serious changes need to be made starting with Sather.

I can hope can't i :sarcasm:

JeffMangum 03-03-2011 11:02 PM

I'll be watching anyway, considering I have nothing better to do. I should have said that McDonagh is a positive reason to watch the Rangers.

Well to say i won't watch anymore is a lie. Hell I'll probably spend a couple hundred more on seeing these guys live this year.

I love this team to death. But its so tough year after year to pinpoint the good pieces of this team. Why can't we have a year where things are just flat out "good."

Maybe I'm just in debbie downer mood but 3 regulation wins in their last 21 games or w/e has me thinking otherwise.

RyanBozak 03-03-2011 11:10 PM

Welp, looks like we don't have a POTG anymore for any PGTs.

In all honesty, don't miss too many games, Ryan. While I could care less at this point whether or not it seriously effects the team, I like watching you play.

Thanks.

tomobson 03-04-2011 12:57 AM

whew, dodged a bullet there. this kid is going to be a pretty damn good nhler for a while, wouldn't want anything messing up with that.

n8 03-04-2011 02:22 AM

Are Vtank or Kundra gonna get a chance?

AdamGravesNight 03-04-2011 03:48 AM

I suppose this is the best news of the evening... Day to Day, I can live with that. McDonagh has been one of my top 3 favorite Rangers since he's been up, so it'd be a shame if he were to be hurt in any serious fashion.

By most accounts, neither is ready and there's no way (unless injuries force it) that they would bring up these two in the midst of a playoff race anyway.

WhipNash27 03-04-2011 10:07 AM

Eminger will play tonight.

Staal, Girardi, Sauer, Eminger, Gilroy, McCabe

UnderPSI 03-04-2011 11:25 AM

AGross...

Quote:

AGrossRecord Also per @JimCerny, Ryan McDonagh (left knee) is limping badly. Likely that Steve Eminger will dress for him tonight.
Get better soon MCD!

wolfgaze 03-04-2011 12:57 PM

How long are they saying he's out for?

vladmyir111 03-04-2011 04:16 PM

Shouldn't be terrible he was putting weight on it immediately, I could see him missing a game or two if it swells, but probably not much more.
