#Canucks have recalled Victor Oreskovich from Manitoba this morning.

I suppose Tambellini will be back on the 2nd line?

Bobby Lou 03-07-2011 01:39 PM

How are we pulling this one off?

Glass-Lapierre-Oreskovich

Could be a nasty piece of business. Oreo was looking fairly solid prior to our trade deadline activity.

That will be great if it happens.

My question exactly...

I suppose if Bieksa was placed retroactively on the LTIR this could work?

Winroba 03-07-2011 01:41 PM

Does anybody know how many games BXA has missed?

Either that or AV's infamous 'it's just a burner' comment means Raymond is the one going on LTIR.

Tomorrow is game 10

^For LTIR is it 10 games/24 days whichever comes first?

crazycanuck 03-07-2011 01:42 PM

Bieksa on LTIR retroactivally will clear enough space. He's missed 9 games I believe.

we get 4 ahl call ups until the playoffs start, so here's #1.

we've been hit with so many rights (dman injuries) that we were begging for a left....

Yeah 10 games or 24 days. Tomorrow is day 21. Bieksa wasn't expected back until Saturday anyways so he'd be fine for both.

Ahh, that's makes a lot of sense. So Bieksa can still be back in time for the Flames game?

Johnny Canucker 03-07-2011 01:49 PM

Paging Chris Higgens

Mr. Canucklehead 03-07-2011 01:49 PM

Now here's one other question--are we still able to send Oreskovich back down? I know we got 4 callups, but I was under the impression we weren't able to dispatch anyone to Manitoba after that...fuzzy on my "capenomics".

Didn't we do a paper transaction call-up for Tanev? So does mean this is #2?

I thought it was 24 days and 10 games? But yeah tomorrow is day 21 so I guess it doesn't really matter because he's not expected to play until Saturday anyway.

It's #3, actually. Tanev was sent down just before the deadline and recalled afterwards so he wasn't frozen on the roster, and apparently the Seabrook-Sharp loan swap with Calgary/Abbotsford required another callup.

Pretty sure we can send him down. We only can't send down a player that wasn't called up after the trade deadline.

Yeah, he can go down - anyone called up after the deadline can be sent down, it's just the guys on the roster at the deadline that can't. Hence the Tanev paper move that cost us a callup.

Bobby Lou 03-07-2011 01:54 PM

As speculated:

-Raymond a game-time decision against Phoenix (team still maintains it's 'not serious').
-Higgins joins the team in Phoenix (EDIT: speculation is he'll play against San Jose).
-Bieksa stays home and placed on LTIR (no setback though according to Gillis; eligible to play against Calgary).
-Oreo up (insurance).

Laurence Gillman strikes again.

Paging Lawrence "Cap God" Gillman...

One of the few things I agree on with Brian Burke, this 4 AHL call up rule.

Makes sense. Oreskovich up here just in case Raymond can't go (I wouldn't be surprised if they give him the game off) then is sent down in time for the San Jose game. If Raymond can go for the San Jose game then we'll likely see Tambellini scratched and Higgins drawing in.

Meganuck* 03-07-2011 02:08 PM

OREO??? Seriously?

Worst nick ever.
