Montréal Impact Official 2011/Pre-MLS Season Thread

With all the Pacioretty talk(very understandable), the Saputo Stadium announcement was obviously very shadowed. Here's some pictures:

Very nice news. Now lets see how they prepare the team for MLS and how they will do in the Canadian Cup.

It looks much nicer than the current stadium. Wonder how much season tickets would cost.

Woland 03-09-2011 06:39 PM

season tickets will start at 250$ and max out at 1250$

Can you buy or reserve them right now?

I'm very interested in becoming a season ticket holder.

still don't know why they built the stadium beside the failure that is the Olympic Stadium

Woland 03-09-2011 07:13 PM

why not buy some for this season ? join us in the KOP, section 114 for only 180 $. You'll have a blast for sure. It includes the game vs. Red Bull NY, one playoff game, and the game vs. Vancouver in the Nutrilit ( Voyageur's cup as we still like to call it)

in order to buy season tickets for next year, you have to pay a 50 $ refundable deposit in order to join the waiting list. Current season ticket holders will have priority next season.

uggggg. I have this conversation before, they had nowhere else to build it. And playing on a football field in unacceptable so forget the Molson Stadium.

You know, that's what I wanted to do. Sadly, too many afternoon games, once again.

Woland 03-09-2011 07:44 PM

+1 on the afternoon games. I also have amajor issue with them. I wrote a letter to Legendre and he replied that evening games would be a priority for next season. It's basically all because of SRC.

Bah, shouldn't be an issue for 2012 since TSN will have the MLS broadcast rights I believe.

250$ for MLS season tickets sounds reasonable. Just need to know where I'll end up next year!

Yah, the TV station that doesn't care about the Impact. Anyway, afternoon games are just so annoying, especially in the middle of the summer. You're basically just there cooking in the stadium. Also, I work most of weekends even during the summer so I can't attend to those.

Cheap land, they had space for a practice field right next to it, it's close to the subway and two major streets, there's parking nearby. Only drawback is it's far from downtown.

The plans look great, I'm pretty excited for 2012. Hopefully they'll have big marketing campaigns and all games will be televised. People need be aware of the fact that they're going to the superior league for it to work.
