Duco, Rissmiller up; Kennedy, Thomas down

According to GR's twitter page, Duco and Rissmiller have been called up, and will probably play in tomorrow's game.

Kennedy and Thomas were sent down yesterday, so I guess they stay in Rochester.

Makes some sense as the team gets more physical, at least, for the Flyers game to prevent the likes of Booth from getting nearly killed, again.

ShootIt 03-14-2011 04:28 PM

So Kennedy doesn't have to clear waivers?

Glad to see Duco up here.

FinlandPanther 03-14-2011 04:38 PM

love Duco. he deserves it. if he tones it down a bit he can be one great pest in the NHL.

Rattrick 03-14-2011 04:41 PM

Don't understand the love fest for Duco. Agree that if he tones it down he can be a viable option for the lower lines as a pest and might chip in some goals here and there, but I don't see him going with the heavyweights in the NHL, so I see him as a tweener with a lose cannon that's going to go off and cost the team.

Mogo 03-14-2011 04:46 PM

Finally DUCO!!!!

AwesomePanthers 03-14-2011 04:51 PM

Looking forward to see Rissmiller, he has produced over PPG for the Americans. But don't ruin the tank..

Erick 03-14-2011 04:56 PM

I hope Duco doesn't tone it down.

Nope, Kennedy is good since he already cleared them. I think he gets 30 days, or 10 NHL games -- whichever comes first, before he has to clear again.

RainingRats 03-14-2011 06:22 PM

Nice to see duco get called up

ghjkfdhgfd 03-14-2011 06:27 PM

Hordi and Duco will provide some entertainment.

He's a pest. You don't see Avery going against the heavyweights either.

I wish he would.

FlaPnthrsPunk 03-14-2011 06:51 PM

I think Duco's just going to be up for this game for toughness against the Flyers. I'm looking forward to seeing how Rissmiller will do.

HowdyHowden93* 03-14-2011 06:53 PM

send down Kennedy for his twin Duco. Both are too small for the NHL and both suck.

Completely different players.. I'm not a big Kennedy fan, but Duco is awesome

we'll see how awesome he is. NHL is completely different than the AHL, I'm sure he's going to get a rude awakening tomorrow vs the best team in the East and maybe the NHL.

Philly has been pretty bad lately... Duco has played in the NHL and has played well IMO.

He's played NHL games before. His job isn't to go out and score a ton, he's a Carcillo type. He's done fine enough in his role.

HowdyHowden93* 03-14-2011 09:30 PM

10 NHL games

0 goals 0 assists 50 PIM - at least we may get a few fights tomorrow night hehe Jessiman should have been called up too. err

Not every player is a Toews. I actually can't stand the "pest" players, but I'm all for bangers who know their role. Of course we need some Toews like guys, but they're working on that.

Great series of posts, btw,.

And now Selleck and Knackstedt have been recalled.

Hordichuk
Selleck
Duco
Knackstedt

Should make Panthers games a little more fun.

EDIT: Sent back down already? Lame!

teddygmr 03-15-2011 02:21 PM

Selleck was just suspended by the AHL for 4 games so I suspect he was sent down to serve that; he could be recalled again.
Duco plays with passion and I think that is something that has been missing. He leads Rochester with 18 goals and is not afraid to battle in front of the net.

Co-sign! He's not the biggest guy, so I suppose that's why he's a fan favorite, the fact that he's kinda fearless.

That's definitely part of it I think, the 'Rudy' factor.

AwesomePanthers 03-15-2011 06:29 PM

I'm not that high on Duco either.
