Biega, add Lagace. Tough competition for the add now. You have Lagace having a bad first pro season, Turnbull coming off a major injury, Henley coming off a major injury, Adams is far away and having a tough college season, Burachikov, Gogulla, and Schutz are staying in Europe, Drew Mac is good but I don't think he'll get an ELC due to a numbers game, and Eno and Jokinen suck.

Voted for Biega, Maxime Legault has Milan Bartovic written all over him ..

That's pretty much it. I keep going with adding Adams because there is still some promise and upside there, albeit way, way down the road. The rest... I don't expect to ever see any of the European-born guys here ever again. Henley might have a better chance if he can now stay healthy/if his wrist is repaired. He looked like a real player in camp. Lagace has lived up to my expectations so far. :laugh:

And since we're getting down to these players now, does it matter that Schutz is apparently going to be a UFA according to Bakes after this season?
Doesn't seem like he should even be included in this poll if that's the case.

I thought of that too, but by the time anyone votes for him only a handful of people will care. Schutz, Gogulla, and Burachikov are dead to me.

The other thing would be, what happens if the Sabres land a prized NCAA UFA? Can we redo this all again in two weeks? :biglaugh:

Yeah, I don't think any of them will ever be part of the Sabres plans.
I don't know what happened to Schutz; he's doing worse in the DEL than he did when he played there at age 20.
Gogulla was intriguing but he obviously didn't have "the dream", so he's just another wasted pick.
I think that Buravchikov could play in the NHL but I'm not sure what his contract situation is.
He was recently moved to CSKA and they just plain suck, so he may not be interested in playing there (they will probably finish close to the bottom of the league next season).
However, we have too many defensemen.
If he had any interest in coming over, he'd probably just be useful as a trade throw in.

Perhaps this is better suited for a free agency thread, but we don't have one.

Biega impressed the hell out of me in camp.

however i am really interested in.

Riley Boychuk. I just think that he has the size to be an effective 3rd or 4th liner. and i get the impression that he has some competitive meanness. by no means over looking sutch

And Buravchikov will age out in a couple months, Eno almost certainly won't be signed but since they're still Sabres property for the time being I don't think it's a big issue to have them on this poll.


Speaking of Buravchikov, I've decided that since there appears to have been some interest the last couple summers, that they're going to work something out this year. No reason to justify it other than Pegula Era Baby! :yo:
