crosby rocks 03-31-2011 01:38 PM

next time, take the time to properly phrase your topic question, or we wont bother to answer it. Try backwards crossovers in a circle or while skating backwards (no duh)...that's how I learned how to do them on ice

He was clear in his original post.

Actually skating off ice is only good for helping your physical conditioning for skating. Forward strides, crossovers, backward strides, and stopping are all performed differently from ice to inline. Inline skating still uses the same muscles as you do on ice so it is great for building more strength and endurance in your skating, the form is different so make sure you do not bring bad habits in your skating onto the ice.

Practice handling the ball/puck without looking down at it.

theres also one other thing when i go on the ice after rollerblading the front of my blade feels weird any solutions

SuperBlade 04-02-2011 01:08 PM

It will always feel "weird" after rollerblading then to ice skating. The skates are different, the geometry of the boot/blade and the surface is different. The feel of soft wheels vs a hard steel blade makes a difference, too.

You could also practice tight turns on roller blades.
