Skate Break-In

I am looking at new skates, something in the Vapor line. My foot is right between a 10 and a 10.5. The 10 I feel like my toes are jammed in the toe cap and the 10.5 I have just a little bit off of it. How much would the boot break in and should I go with the smaller size?

If a boot is too big, there is literally nothing you can do with it.
If its a bit smallish, you can do things to stretch it a bit such as the heat molding, etc...

If the Vapors don't fit your foot size and shape, try other Bauer skates. I had my heart set on Vapors but ended up getting something else due to the fit.

When you say jammed up against the toe cap,is that in a skating stance or up right? The fit I look for when buying new skates is my toes firmly up against the toe cap in an upright stance. In a skating stance my toes are just brushing the cap. I just purchased Vapor x60 LE's and they fit so well. Like the above post, there is nothing you can do about a skate being to large. Find a good fitter at your LHS and try on all the brands. It might not be what you want but getting the best fit is the important thing. I wanted CCM U+ CL's but the Bauers fit better.
