If anyone is interested, here is a little article I wrote after the MSG game about the differences in derby day in the NHL and my local soccer club.

nice GDT:wave:

Need i say must win?

Shadowtron 03-31-2011 09:35 AM

Anything less than 2 points is a disgrace. Time to start scoring some goals again. Now's not the time for 1 goal game funks.

McNashty 03-31-2011 09:35 AM

Sorry about not adding in the Defensive pairings and the Islanders lineup, I'm sitting in BIO Lab and won't be able to add it in for another 2 hours. If a MOD would like to add those in then that would be fine, if not then I will add in later. Let's Go Rangers!!! :yo:

broadwayblue 03-31-2011 09:55 AM

2 points or bust. No excuses tonight, just win baby.

Puckface NYR* 03-31-2011 10:06 AM

Win tonight and i feel good, lose tonight and i'll be really nervous.

Will be there cheering them on regardless...LGR BABY :yo:

KreiMeARiver* 03-31-2011 10:18 AM

This is a definite MUST WIN. Anything less than 2 points could cost us a playoff spot.

Fitzy 03-31-2011 10:19 AM

All the games at this point are huge.

unfortunate combination of circumstances last night put us in a tough spot, and I think we need to go 3-2 here down the stretch or we are going to regret it.

And with 2 games against Philly and Boston we need to collect these 2 points or else.

terrrrrible 03-31-2011 10:20 AM

2 points please! LGR!

King of cool 03-31-2011 10:20 AM

Win it please. LGR.

Glennsoe 03-31-2011 10:25 AM

No zuccarello yet?

Oh we'll...

In order to win this huge game, we need to;

1. MAN UP..

2. Protect Lundqvist..

3. Stop making the other goalie look amazing..

It could turn into another nail biting game..

KenGuru 03-31-2011 10:35 AM

The Rangers rarely loose 2 games in a row on the road. I have a good feeling about this. Win 6-4.

Chalfdiggity3 03-31-2011 10:39 AM

I dont get why torts doesnt try these line combos. Everyone is saying Wolski needs to just concentrate on offense. So lets try this.

Wolski Stepan Gaborik
Dubi Anisimov Cally
Feds Boyle Prust
Avery EC/Prospal Zucca

Prospal looks old and slow and doesnt do much offensively, and i think we really need to get Wolski going. Him and Stepan have good chemistry on the ice and with their speed and offensive skill can open up more room to set up gaborik.

The other two lines stay the same and then the last line, we can decide whether or not to start EC or Zucca depending upon if we want Prospal at center or wing. What you think?

Zuccarello is just not ready for playoff hockey. Every game from here on out is playoff hockey and he's just not mature enough to compete in that atmosphere. Not saying he won't ever be able to, but right now I think we need some guys out their with experience.

OverTheCap 03-31-2011 10:55 AM

We got this... it's the Islanders so Gabby is bound to score at least one goal.

One? I'm expecting five after his four against Toronto.

Indeed. We need this one and the Thrashers for sure. Then a split with Philly and Boston. Hopefully that makes the Devils game irrelevant.

MorrisWanchuk 03-31-2011 11:03 AM

is hank going to play in net?

Very nice GDT. Any one know what happened to Loffen?

Melrose_Jr. 03-31-2011 11:05 AM

I wouldn't rule out Zucc. I think there's a couple of guys in the running for a night off.

Wraparounds 03-31-2011 11:26 AM

Wolski on the ice for optional, Zuccarello not.

AJRanger 03-31-2011 12:04 PM
