The Value of JVR in a trade...

What would you think of trading JVR for something like Cody Franson of Nashville and maybe a pick. Franson's having a career year so far (watch out for him in the future). This would been moving Carle, but I think Franson would be much better than Carle was.

Jester 04-04-2011 05:15 PM

Is it that time of year already?

Beef Invictus 04-04-2011 05:19 PM

I'd rather not move JVR.

My mind's been walking, too far apparently...

I like Franson, but he's not what we need exactly. And I like JvR better as well, so that's a no from me.

RIPRichardsCarter 04-04-2011 05:31 PM

He is finally starting to reach his potential. Giroux 2.0 IMO.

They both started their first season slow, were a bit inconsistent their 2nd year and gained momentum towards the end, then Giroux blew up in the playoffs, then he was an all-star his next year.

Lets hope JVR can follow in Giroux's shoes these playoffs.

KimiFerrari 04-04-2011 05:38 PM

We need him more than anything someone can realistically offer. He is under a great contract and starting to really show his game. Even if he blows up next year and we can't keep him under contract, we could flip him for something when the time comes.

Couldn't get anyone to bite on the Isles board for Neilson or Comeau either.

mm6492 04-04-2011 07:13 PM

Yea sure. You can have Giroux as well.

Flyerfan4life 04-04-2011 07:27 PM

i can see no reasons to trade JVR at this point..

DrinkFightFlyers 04-04-2011 07:44 PM

Only if you throw in some bad-decent prospects.

We'd need at least 3. 2 if their intangibles are particularly intangible.

Terence Peterman 04-04-2011 07:53 PM

My head hurts just trying to think of a reply

Spongolium* 04-04-2011 08:14 PM

I say we give up JVR, Giroux and Carter to any team that wants them. Just to rid ourselves of any proposal

King Forsberg 04-04-2011 08:18 PM

JS Giguere

MJB215 04-04-2011 08:52 PM

No thanks. I have a feeling JVR is going to turn into a beast. Im thinking 40+ goals a year

six sigma 04-04-2011 09:04 PM

Not too many scenarios where I trade jvr, to be honest. He's really starting to pour it on.

GoneFullHextall 04-04-2011 11:54 PM

JVR isnt going anywhere. Anyone who has seen the guy play the last month plus knows this.

SolidSnakeUS 04-05-2011 01:21 AM

JVR's value just keeps going up with the kind of play he's had lately. And he'll even be bigger next year. So his value is high enough on the Flyers that he will go nowhere.

Mgkibbles 04-05-2011 08:25 AM

If JVR puts together a strong postseason he needs to be look at as a cornerstone, not a trade piece.

Cartsiephan* 04-05-2011 08:26 AM

If you are going to move a player with value off this roster it should be Jeff Carter, no question.

PhilaFlyers 04-05-2011 08:26 AM

With our lack of prospects we are not moving JVR.

That didn't take long.

Just sayin', IF you are moving a player it would be Carter for return value, Briere for cap space. That is a pretty logical statement over moving JvR who fills the LW position which is where this team lacks depth, and he does not have an 11 yr $5+ mill contract over his head.
