The gang is all here, except for Nick Johnson and Sidney Crosby. All of the other Pens are accounted for. Also, Brent Johnson is rockin' a pair of snowy white new pads. We'll have a picture of his new gear for you shortly.

Hopefully this is what's happening....that or he couldn't find his way to the arena.

Dan Barr 04-17-2011 10:58 AM

My buddy said he drove by Mallorca the other day and Sid was sitting in the outdoor area enjoying some lunch. Unfortunately, Crosby was eating a centerpiece instead of his food.

Recently saw Crosby at Giant Eagle, asked him how he was feeling. Said he was very excited to play within the next week, and that taking the ice with Mario for the first time would be very special.

kmillzy5 04-17-2011 01:36 PM

Crosby was at south hills village the other day. said he feels good.. still confused why he wasnt wearing pants tho

Ugene Malkin 04-17-2011 01:46 PM

Seen Crosby leaving the neurologist office as I walked bye it this morning and I said hey. He then replied back with, "try the ice cream, it was really good. It gave me a brain freeze!"

JTG 04-17-2011 01:48 PM

I saw Crosby down at Southpointe. He was sitting in the snack bar with 4 soft pretzels and his Dad was reading him the comics section of the Sunday paper.

Said he should be cleared for contact next week

66-29-33 04-17-2011 01:54 PM

I didn't see Crosby.

Sideline 04-17-2011 02:16 PM

Dreger just said best case for Crosby is 2-3 weeks.

Cspeirs4 04-17-2011 02:17 PM

Dreger just said he has heard that best case scenario is Crosby will be back in 2-3 weeks but repeated that that was the best case scenario. Also said that progress is being made and workouts on and off of the ice are being intensified.

GarrettC 04-17-2011 02:20 PM

With any luck he won't be joining them on the golf course.

WickedWrister 04-17-2011 02:22 PM

Just played some kid in NHL 11 with the username Crosbypens87, and he quit the game after I had a 3-0 lead. That must've been Sid, and I suspect the early disconnect must've been attributed to dizzyness from playing videogames.

Nakawick 04-17-2011 02:32 PM

Ran into Sid this morning at the grocery store checkout. He had a seeing eye dog with him. We chatted briefly about the weather, he paid the clerk and started walking away, I said "Hey Sid, don't forget your groceries", he said " groceries? what groceries?, do you know the way home?"

DreamBeaut 04-17-2011 02:39 PM

so if we make it to round 2 about game three/four

mpp9 04-17-2011 02:44 PM

Soooo it's going to take him nearly 2 months to go from on-ice workouts to game ready. Gotta give it to the organization, they're being safe.

The Good News: Crosby felt good enough to do some promotional spots for Tim Hortons and Reebok today.

The Bad News: He showed up wearing crullers on his feet, casually snacking on a ZigTech.

The eye dog is because he had a detached retina
