Let's see from reviewing the comments on the AZcentral site, it would appear that the Glendale city council are making "sound" financial decisions. Lost money hosting the super bowl, hired lawyers to fight the casino, lawyers to review the AZ gift clause, $25M to the NHL and $180M for an Arena. The city has laid off workers and are not investing in libraries; perhaps other infrastructure is not being attended to. If anything, I know how easy it is for politicians to bankrupt a county and from the looks of it, Glendale is shuffling the chairs on the Titanic!

Surprised to see so many people at AZ hammering council now. Always seemed to be a fair number of Yotes diehards posting there. Now everyone seems to be negative.

OT but that argument with the tribe is ludicrous. Okay, we deannexd the land, but we didn't mean to or didn't have the authority to do that, so can we please still keep the natives out? LOL amazed that argument got as far as it did.

Also listed is Beacon Sports Capital Partners (Alan Leventhal), who were recommended by IFG (Michael Reinsdorf) to the COG to assess the arena. That report wound up on the desk of John Kaites (Jerry Reinsdorfs front man) a full month before Jerry Moyes filed for BK. Clearly, both Beacon & IFG et al had been working for some months prior to May 2009 on the COG's dime, so really this disclosure of the app. 4.75M over 2.5yrs is hardly surprising. It is what it is.

Suprised there is no new news to report on today's meeting. Then again, they probably just said "well, we paid the NHL $25 million that we agreed to" and that's all it really was.

'the funny thing is the 1st year the arena opened, hockey went on strike and in the newsletter you get with your waterbill, scruggs gleefully declared, we are making more on the arena without hockey.'

found this on AZ central , anyone else remeber this newsletter or if we can get a copy posted here?
