2011 - 2012 Seating Chart

http://devils.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=41796

Just came across this on the team's website and knew there were a lot of people on here interested in what the new seating chart would look like.. Still no prices as of right now, though

So they added gold.. unless they dropped the price of the black seats do they really expect anyone to buy the gold seats ?

What's next we trade for Avery ?

Colin226 05-04-2011 01:40 PM

Anyone else find it interesting that the club seats are now broken into 3 prices? iirc, the gold is like $225 or $250, the black is still $200, and the silver is $175

That is definitely an improvement.

It's good to see more than one color in the balcony. I also like how there's a difference between the balcony in the end where the Devils shoot twice and vice versa.

Marv4Life 05-04-2011 02:03 PM

Rust. LOL. But I agree that this is an improvement as there will be different levels of pricing in the balcony and mezzanine.

guyincognito 05-04-2011 02:19 PM

They had a fruitier chart than that, a few years back.

Luckily I miss "rust" by a row.

As far as I know, the first row or 2 in the entire arena has access to the club for food.

I know...

But I still wouldn't put the first row in the ends at the same price as center ice first rows for obvious reasons.

The Prudential Center reminds me of some Italian soccer stadiums. It'll be a sellout, and yet, the first six or seven rows behind the nets are empty.

General comment on your pricing: You aren't getting many sth with those relatively small discounts (in most sections). The 3 pre-season games add about 7.3% to the cost of your regular season tickets ... that takes away a large chunk of the sth discount in some of your sections.

Now let's fill in what we actually know (the following are all st costs ... no idea on box office pricing yet ... others can fill in what they know):

Orange - $53
Rust - $51 (box office was $85 last season)
Aqua - $22
Royal Blue - $28
Light Blue - $42

The Light Blue pricing is strange to me. I can see a "premium" for the front row of the balcony (a little more leg room, never have to worry about who is in front of you), but to go from $22 to $42/ticket (on the one end)? Never mind that the poor schlub is row 3 is also paying $42, while my kid gets to spill soda on him from row 4 (since we have no cup holders there) for half the price? Also strange that row 3 in the balcony behind the goal is priced the same as row 1 in the mezzanine on the side?

The center ice mezzanine sections have a higher price point in row only (which makes some sense ... not sure why it wasn't applied to the balcony).

DOUBLE RAINBOW!!!!

What does it mean?

*cries*

NJDevs26 05-04-2011 03:35 PM

The Devils like rust so much they're using it for two different sections :P

I don't get why they can't just come out with the full prices, they must have them by now - at least for the season tickets. If they don't, what are they telling people who want to switch seats at the sth events? Assuming not everyone who switches jumps to the balcony.

Confucious say, seating chart with no prices, useful as plane with no wings.

This is actually an intelligent decision if they price it right. They were bleeding Club STH with each passing year, and nobody is going to want to pay more to be in the last row than in the middle.

And FWIW, the "On The Glass" seats at any hockey arena are the worst priced seats in any building from a value perspective. The action is fantastic if it's near you, and sucks if it's not. It's a rookie play. Even if I were given first row seats, I'd try to sneak back to the ~14th row.

Certainly something to worry about.

I wouldn't necessarily panic if I were a STH though, it very likely could simply be due to typical Devils' incompetence and poor decision making.

Although, one of the 600 different things I was told during one of the 600 different times I asked this question, was that they couldnt release face yet because they're working on pricing with the NHL over a new Premium game pricing model. Although I for the life of me have no idea why the NHL would have to approve the Devils pricing model, the rest of it is a possible logical explanation for face not being released. Or, that 1/600 guy was a good bull******.

Where is the Supporter section?

Excellent question - Based on what I saw yesterday, I am guessing that the upper half of one (or more) of the $22 sections (maybe 118-120) have been "held"; there were almost no seats available up there and, unless every new subscriber took those seats, there is no way that many are sold

They have all of their season ticket pricing set; as I mentioned, at the relocation event, they gave everyone a sheet with the next 3 price points ABOVE their current price. Wonder what they did for folks in the upper balcony, since (for some of them, at least), the $22 sections are actually LESS expensive (no?)

njdevsfn95 05-04-2011 04:29 PM

The supporters shouldve been given ALL of Section 101. It is the smallest of the balcony sections

I think they are more likely to give the supporters seats on the $22 end.

NYRFAN218 05-04-2011 05:26 PM

A different price for the first row downstairs is stupid, what are you paying to bang on the glass?

Nothing beats the way the Mets priced their tickets the past two years. Not only was everything overpriced, practically every other row in every section was a different price. I think there were 40 or 50 different price ranges, it was ridiculous. The way the Devils structured this isn't bad outside of the first row nonsense.
