quantity =/= quality.

I forgot to add Lalonde, but Stalberg is OK, Brophey is alright and could be a bottom six player someday, and Vishnevskiy could see time as a #6/#7. Kyle Beach is one of our top prospects and Lalonde is one of our top defensive prospects. Florida also gets a 1st, a 2nd, and a 4th.

I dunno about this one... I guess what i'm really thinking is "what if" these prospects develop into bigger roles than players we traded for? >_<

Laus723 05-05-2011 11:28 PM

Why bother posting this? There's not a chance of it happening, and Florida's not going to move those three. Weiss, maybe, but not the other two.

When's the last time such a trade with that many players involved happen?

Ludicrous Speed 05-05-2011 11:31 PM

Wow, 10 assets for 3.

Jeffrey Lebowski 05-06-2011 12:12 AM

I think to get Weiss, I'd imagine you'd start with Bolland and then add Beach or Morin... whichever they want.

I'm sure Florida says no and I don't see how we'd fit Weiss/Santorelli/Weaver on the team going forward.

I don't think Beach is one of our top prospects any longer. He probably falls behind Morin, Olsen, Kevin Hayes, Ben Smith and maybe even Pirri and Lalonde at this point.

Anyway, as others said quantity does not equal quality.

I know weiss has disappointed some people, but I can't imagine how painful next year would be without him.

I don't think the value is bad and I'm sure florisda would love to stock up on picks and prospects like beech.. But how long can florida afford to stay in the basement of the league.

If the picks and prospects don't meet their potential then the wait(prospects developing) will have been for nothing.

Gudbranson44 05-06-2011 05:16 AM

this is not even close, this is just low level quantity for quality.. if tallon would do this, im pretty sure he'd be run out of town

wej20 05-06-2011 05:50 AM

Florida would rather have a few quality prospects than loads of meh ones.

Bubba88 05-06-2011 06:26 AM

I don't see this happening

digdug41982 05-06-2011 10:22 AM

That's some serious one stop shopping. I think Tallon says yes at 1st CHI, Beach, Morin and Olsen. That's a lot to to give up.

GaryU 05-06-2011 10:52 AM

I like those 3 from Fla., BUT, that's a LOT for the Hawks to give up AND put on the Cap, coming back...
