Game 4...continue

keep going here

Last play... penalties galore... no calls.... mother's day game incoming.

Textbook NHL trying to make $$$ and trying to get decent TV ratings.

QFT.

Very frustrating

Led Zappa 05-06-2011 09:13 PM

Well, it used to be that the Sharks weren't allowed to beat the Wings in the PO's. At least we down to your not allowed to sweep the wings. :sarcasm:

sharkbite3 05-06-2011 09:13 PM

Why make the game on Mother's Day?? So many people will have to miss it!

allworldcaucasn* 05-06-2011 09:14 PM

lol Clowe postgame

"Abdelkader?"

"Just a little scrum. Wish it would have been Kronwall lining up against me, but that's allright."

USF Shark 05-06-2011 09:14 PM

wait...game 5 is VS only?

Thepainter 05-06-2011 09:14 PM

Also hilarious is if you listen to the broadcast, the announcers (NUMEROUS times) referred to the Wings as "us".

I thought the color commentator and on-ice guy were pretty one-sided from their analysis, but I don't recall them ever making it that clear. Maybe I just have selective memory.

Artful_Dodger* 05-06-2011 09:15 PM

Announcers were a couple of peckerwoods.

SharksAddict 05-06-2011 09:16 PM

Proud of the team tonight, could have very easily coasted through that one after getting down 3-0.

Good job making Detroit scratch and nail for a single win. Put 'em away at home!

Seriously, if it wasn't do you think this game ends up the way it did tonight?

The NHL wants a game on Mother's Day.

Oh, they did. It was especially obvious on the GWG.

Negatively Positive 05-06-2011 09:17 PM

the sharks need to end this in 5 because vancouver will most likely end their series in 5. the sharks and red wings are evenly matched so if they blow game 5, it will be another cross-country trip to detroit for another hard-fought game and god knows we don't want to see game 7. the sharks will most likely win this series but it's not just about winning. it's about winning as quick as possible so your next opponent don't have too much of an advantage over you.

Chubbs 05-06-2011 09:18 PM

Personally I'm pretty happy despite the loss. The Sharks played well and had very few passengers, and they battled back from being down 3 goals. It's disheartening to see them lose because of some very iffy officiating, but at the same time the Sharks did have a chance to put the game away twice in the third on the PP but never even got set up.

I'd be disappointed if they lost because of a lack of effort, but that was not the case tonight. Can't win every game, so if they have to lose I'd like it to be done like tonight.

WTFetus 05-06-2011 09:19 PM

Poor game by the fourth line (excluding Ferriero) and Marleau tonight.

irregardless 05-06-2011 09:19 PM

Remember when Patty used to score goals?

allworldcaucasn* 05-06-2011 09:19 PM

I'm not gonna lie, I'm worried. Game 5 is no gimmie, and if it goes back to Detroit all bets are off.

Thepainter 05-06-2011 09:19 PM

Proud of the team, though. The Lidstrom goal was lucky (yes, it was lucky despite Wings fans thinking he's some sort of god) and the final goal was just... well you all know.

Get them in 5.

Yup.

I'm very frustrated. That turnover by Thornton led to the ridiculous chances by the Red Wings late. Niemi wasn't going to stop everything.

KzooShark 05-06-2011 09:20 PM

Ok guys, let's dial back the paranoia about the league/VS/refs/whoever wanting a game 5 for Sunday.

It's the NHL. They're way too incompetent to accomplish such goals with alacrity.

Now Southeastern Conference football, there's where your officiating and underhanded cheating comes into play.

Call it luck if you will, but batting down a puck and then knuckling it on a bouncer top-shelf takes some serious hand-eye. And he's 41 years old to boot.
