I hope he's going to heal and continue his career.

legendinblue 05-14-2011 12:13 PM

I hope he will get well soon and the accident won't cause any further trouble in his hockey career.

bolt thrower 05-14-2011 12:16 PM

They just said he's in an artificial coma, hope he gets well soon. Stupid drunks:shakehead

Crimson Skorpion 05-14-2011 12:29 PM

Oh my God, after all that happened last night.

Get well soon Kevin. I really hope he makes it out of this.

TollefsenFan 05-14-2011 12:32 PM

ai ai ai I hope it will go well for him! Sad to story :(

Eidyia 05-14-2011 12:33 PM

Very sad to hear this. All the best!

End of Line 05-14-2011 12:51 PM

Sad news to hear.....

Hope he gets better.

elduderino 05-14-2011 12:54 PM

It just makes me sad and furious to read that the girl was driving with an alcohol level three times higher than allowed (1,56 instead of 0,5). DUI is just an act of complete disrespect for the lives and health of others and yourself. Terrible...just terrible.

Another point..

It's a joke that you are allowed to drive with 0.4 per mille in your system. In Sweden the legal limit is 0.2, which means that you're only allowed to have 0.1 per mille, anything over that and you're driving illegally.

People who drink and drive should seriously have their licenses suspended for a decade and then be forced to visit the morgue every time someone dies from a drunk driver.

This.

Hope he gets better.

Poor thing. My thoughts are with his friends and family. Sitting by the bedside of a young person injured by a drunk driver is a difficult thing to do.

According to IIHF´s facebook page:

Quote:

Update on Kevin Lötscher: His state of health is stable according to information released by his club SC Bern on Sunday. He remains in artificial coma and reacts positive to the medical measures. Lötscher was struck at the roadside by a car, driven by an intoxicated driver in the night from Friday to Saturday.

Spawnisen 05-15-2011 11:35 AM

One can get so angry :(

D1az 05-16-2011 12:07 AM

Hope he gets well soon.

Drunk drivers sure are idiots. :(

JVR 05-16-2011 02:19 AM

Infuriating news. Hope he recovers copletely.
Keep us updated!

Nordic* 05-16-2011 02:23 AM

They release the name of the victim, but not the drunk driver. Past her drunkass face omn the front page of all national newspapers in Switzerland to start with, that'll have an effect on every other idiot who thinks about getting in a car drunk.

Belenos 05-16-2011 01:30 PM

Lötscher has been transported to the university hospital of Bern. He is still in coma...

duga 05-18-2011 12:42 PM

still no news about his state....

but the speculations are getting wild and weird:

according to swiss tabloid (?) "Blick":

They knew each other, they were out together, he just jumped out off her car moments before (with some other guys) because of her drunk and wild driving. afterwards she circled a round-about with too much speed, lost the control, slightly hit a first guy, and eventually hit Loetscher head-on.

They interview, the guy that got slightly hit, so it's probably true.

what a tragedy!

here's the link, for the one's who speak german:

You're probably thinking of Bild.

Edit: Scratch that, they're both tabloids.

That's what I wrote.

But they aren't "The Sun", they still got a bit of moral left.
It sounds reliable.

Sorry, I totally missed that tabloid part in your first post.....:(

jonas2244 05-20-2011 12:02 PM

Kevin is still in coma, but they'll probably wake him up this weekend. Afterwards it should be clear how severe the injuries are.

jonas2244 05-23-2011 04:30 PM

Kevin is now awake and breathes without the help of a machine. No further information on his injuries though.
