Boucherisms

I don't know about you guys, but I would pay good money just to see and hear Guy Boucher as he coaches the team in the locker room. He's so motivational. He's intense yet calm. I find a lot of what he's said in interviews to be motivation for me personally.

A couple I like:

"You don't motivate people, you activate something in them that already exists."

Reporter: "Is it time to panic?"
GB: "I never panic."
Reporter: "Time to worry?"
GB: "I always worry."

Any others that have stuck with you?

I liked his line about respect tonight in the postgame interview with Pierre.

Agree. His interview really stood out I thought

Oh yeah about not running up the score?

The things from the bench that have stuck are

and of course, in what has basically become the season's motif:

That first one is awesome... How could you not love this guy? What is he saying in the second vid?

I also meant to post this one. Gotta love how he mind-effed big bad Bruce, and incidentally, pumped up our guys.

Quote:

“They’re solid all around,” Boucher said. “Right now we’re looking at it, OK, where’s their weakness? There is no weakness. That’s how we feel about that. That’s why I’m saying Goliath against David. That’s why they’re the top team. It’s going to be a real tough task.

“We’re the new kids on the block,” Boucher continued. “We’re not kidding ourselves here. They’re the powerhouse. They’re the monsters right now. We’re the little naggers that are biting at ankles. It’s Goliath against David. That’s what it is. We’d better get our slingshots ready.”

I don't always play the 1-3-1, but when I do, I prefer to trap.

"I don't coach systems, I coach people"

I don't like to be predictable"

(Not a direct quote) "We are not expecting to beat Washington next game, they are too good" lol

I love this coach, he seems to calm but so intense at the same time, his eyes are scary and demand respect.

"Intense! Intense! Got it? Intense!"

It was from that moment we adopted an intensity based currency.

Guy Boucher is an awesome coach, you guys are very lucky to have him. Honestly, he reminds me of Mike Tomlin from the steelers. Young but full of wisdom. Plus that scar is badass. :yo:

"pressure? pressure is something I put in my tires"

Rschmitz 05-15-2011 05:08 PM

I should know more, I've watched every single one of his post-game interviews this season

He puts pressure in his tires? Damn. Everyone I know only puts air.

Love it! I'm stealing that one. Here's another...

Quote:

"It's never been about the opportunity to get it all right away; it's never been about the money to me," Boucher said. "It's always been about being at the right place with the right people for the right reasons."

TheDaysOf 04 05-15-2011 06:24 PM

against the pens:
Quote:

"He's going to bounce back and be as good as he has been," said Tampa Bay coach Guy Boucher. "I'd be surprised if he doesn't bounce back."
against the caps
Quote:

"They've lost one game at home now. I think they'll be charging out there. We'll be bombarded from everywhere. I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case."
against the bruins:
Quote:

"I know Tim Thomas is going to make miracles. I'd be shocked if he doesn't come out with probably his best game of the playoffs."

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Stone. Cold. Badass.

I am SO glad this man is our coach.

It'll all be in caps because that's cruise control for intense.

Yes. It'll take some time to hunt down all of the clips though

The sticker price will say 13.10 but then will surprise you with an aggressive and intense 22.10
