This draft has nothing to do with talent.

A lot of those top players will be playing elsewhere (Europe) if there is no NHL next year. Chances are, the team who drafted him has already talked to Green and he has agreed to play in the WHA next year if there is no NHL season.

The WHA is not going to be the sole destination for locked out NHLers so if you can a draft an established NHLer who will play in your league, it is much better than drafting a superstar who is going to play elsewhere.

Yeah, but still........what were the chances of Travis Green not being available in a later round.
