totally hypothetical. You would never make this trade last year because Hall showed too much promise, but this year.... maybe. If there were a team that had to shed salary by moving a proven asset like Byfuglein, I might entertain trading our 1st.

Njoy Oilers 06-03-2011 07:06 PM

Ummmm??? No

Ice Whole 06-03-2011 07:07 PM

The first overall pick? So one of RNH or Larsson for Byfuglien? No, not even close. Byfuglien is good but RNH and Larsson will be much better then him.

That so funny when I read the title my exact words.

OilerTyler 06-03-2011 07:17 PM

I would gladly trade Los Angeles' first for him, but not our first.

first overall pick for Dusty Byfuglain?

no

The Nuge 06-03-2011 08:02 PM

I'd definitely do our 31st or our 19th and be happy about it, but the 1st... If I got offered that I would just laugh my a** off

Tad Mikowsky 06-03-2011 09:22 PM

Big Buff for the First overall pick?

really man. I mean REALLY?

Oilmageddon* 06-03-2011 09:25 PM

Oilers need to add

:sarcasm:

Oilbleeder 06-03-2011 09:30 PM

I'd take Byfuglien (though I'd be a little weary due to his $5.2 cap hit, but he's proven to me that he's a good player this season), but not for our 1st overall.

I just keep thinking:

MPS-Gagner-Byfuglien

two big cycling wingers aside Gagner, and both are decent defensively, and one is nasty physical.

They'd be a handful if both MPS and Gagner develop somewhat properly.

Ragss 06-03-2011 09:43 PM

Am I missing something? Or did he say Chicago instead of Atlanta and nobody else mentioned it...

InUtero 06-03-2011 09:52 PM

Nope.

And to even the salaries up they could give us Havlat, Cullen and Burns. :sarcasm:

Me too!

I wouldn't even trade the Kings first rounder for Byfuglien. Well, maybe the Kings first, but more likely I would consider the 31st and a player.

Perhaps Cogs/Souray to Winnipeg for Buf...oh wait, he will be the face seen on every billboard in that city in the coming days!

Wow this is flame central. However.

"You would never make this trade". Exactly.

A team that "had to shed salary". What team?

"like Byfuglein" So not him but who else?

These are good questions and not good insults or smilies.

If we could get an extra centerman that could score, that would be a ridiculous 3 lines

Hall - RNH - Eberle
Omark - XXXX - Hemsky
PRV - Gagner - Byfuglien

I could get used to that pretty happily lol

SK13 06-04-2011 12:45 AM

Not a chance in hell.

How in your mind do Cogs and Souray belong in the same sentence? Cogs improved his defensive play a lot last year. Souray was a below average AHL'er.
