Who do you want with the #16th Overall?

I don't think we've had such a poll so far, if we did than I'm sorry.

To sum up all the discussions we are having at the moment: Who is your pick at #16?

I tried to include only realistic options because i don't think guys like Zibanejad or Beaulieu will be available. This scenario of course assumes that we don't trade up or down, if you'd like the team to do one of these, just say so in your post :).

Blacksheep71 06-07-2011 12:29 PM

Nicklas Jensen.

Outside of top 7-8, I think Jensen is the most likely to be elite a la Zach Parise (taken at 17).

He may carry a high bust percentage but if he booms he will be difficult to handle

Duddy 06-07-2011 12:30 PM

BPA, whoever that may be.

ct2111 06-07-2011 12:33 PM

McNeill, Scheifele, Jensen, Miller, Baertschi, Puempel in that order.

Since McNeill is projected to go earlier than 16th in most mocks, I voted Scheifele.

So who is your BPA ;)?

@mgn: You are probably right about McNeill, on the other hand i don't expect Baertschi to slip to us, as well as Armia or Beaulieu who some Mocks had around our range.

Jame 06-07-2011 01:01 PM

i voted Khoklachev... because I think Mcneil goes in the top 12.

I could see Baertschi fall, because of his size. I could see McNeill rise, because of his combine. I don't expect him to fall. Beaulieu to rise, because of the Memorial Cup? Armia, I don't know enough about.

Who do I want? McNeill. But I think he'll be off the board. After him, I'd like Koko. If he's not on the board, I'd have to re-evaluate and consider moving down.

Dabs21Nike 06-07-2011 01:12 PM

Move up for Strome or McNeill.

JPurp26 06-07-2011 01:18 PM

at are pick Mcneill then Scheifele then Jensen

this is a rarity :amazed::laugh:

verbatim

Chainshot 06-07-2011 01:40 PM

McNeill first but he'll be gone. Then one of (in no particular order) Khokhlachev, Schiefele, Jenner, and Namestnikov. Trading up or down to make sure they land the guy they want may be the best bet.

Vito_81 06-07-2011 01:53 PM

No way do I want any part of a guy pretty much named Name-stink-ov

Talk about a huge hint he's gonna be a bust.:sarcasm:

I really want a C in the first round. If the ones that Buffalo like aren't there come 16, I'd definitely drop down a few spots to gain an extra pick.

Seriously. My biggest fear is that McNeill and Koko are off the board, and they pick Siemens because they think he's great value in that spot. Barf.

Blacksheep71 06-07-2011 02:09 PM

I can't see us touching Alexander Khokhlachev because of his nationality even though he is playing in Canada.

We see Russians, Czechs, and Slovaks going to the KHL but not Scandinavians so if we do look outside of North America I think it will be for a guy from Northern Europe

He lists as a RW and some project him out as a RW, but he played center this year in London. He's got jets and hands... and of course the Slob-a-Kozlov-is-my-uncle thing. :biglaugh:

Watch them take Grimaldi.

I think that would come in second only to drafting a defenseman in terms of most controversial moves they could make.

Thank the hockey gods that there is no first-round rated goaltender....

Some guy's mock had them take John Gibson at 16th.

I voted for Scheifele under the assumption that McNeil is gone. Jensen is intriguing though.

SoFFacet 06-07-2011 04:40 PM

In our present spot I think we take Koko. Previously I thought we could trade back into the 20s and still get him but his stock has gone up a bit. If we move up I'd like Strome but he is often gone by #7 in mocks and it will be a struggle to just get #8 from a team that wants to deal in CBJ.

I am probably in the minority but I would not hate picking Grimaldi.

im pretty unstable as it is... if we draft a defensemen in the 1st, i will burn this mofo down.

BritSabre 06-07-2011 05:17 PM

Oleksiak. I get a hard on thinking about him playing with Myers.

McNeill or Jensen in reality would make more sense. Any big forward would be lovely.

I totally agree. They could give up Dennis Person & the rights to Philip Gogulla to move up.

AnthonySaxe 06-07-2011 06:18 PM

Khokhlachev, provided McNeill isn't there.
