Leino or Versteeg

Who would you rather have .

Leino or Versteeg.

CantSeeColors 06-07-2011 09:22 PM

c) none of the above

Fenza 06-07-2011 09:24 PM

A million percent Leino.

Bryz4shiz 06-07-2011 09:24 PM

Yeah, I don't see either being on this team next year, if we sign Bryz that is

Beef Invictus 06-07-2011 09:28 PM

hmmm.

eh.

Tuomaz 06-07-2011 09:34 PM

Of course Leino. No brainer.

Start Leighton* 06-07-2011 09:36 PM

Nodl

Jtown 06-07-2011 09:36 PM

some people really hate leino's effort on defense here. Steeg is a much better fore checker and has more physicality to his game.

Personally i love leino but i can see why some would want steeg here instead.

ShawnTHW 06-07-2011 09:43 PM

Leino for beard-growing capabilities alone.

But seriously, Versteeg is garbage.

Terence Peterman 06-07-2011 09:47 PM

Steeger, for the plentiful nicknames and not being totally one dimensional.

Kitten Mittons 06-07-2011 09:49 PM

I am surprised so many of you like Versteeg. He is so worthless.

Leino's going to get the same money Versteeg makes, if not more. We also gave up a first for Versteeg. He seemed to develop some chemistry with Richards, and ended up playing at least part of his time here with an abdominal tear. It's worth giving him a shot next season, with a full camp to get acclimated.

I also think Leino is extremely frustrating to watch when he's not on his absolute A-game.

Philadelphia Ducks 06-07-2011 10:25 PM

Leino for sure.

Krnage 06-07-2011 11:08 PM

Leino easily

flyersfan187 06-07-2011 11:13 PM

Our team got pushed around way too often last season. I would rather go with Versteeg but wouldn't be surprised to see both gone. Versteeg does have some nastiness in him, though he is a small player.

StandingCow 06-08-2011 12:02 AM

Leino

Versteeg hasn't even played a full season here and was injured. To write him off is foolish. If you compare their careers Versteeg has been more productive and is younger. He's also not one dimensional like Leino. Leino will also likely receive a bigger contract in FA. To me it is a no brainer to keep Versteeg over Leino.

RIPRichardsCarter 06-08-2011 12:19 AM

No one who posted said Versteeg.

Who the hell are the people that would have him over Leino?

TheLegendkiller 06-08-2011 12:55 AM

Versteeg. He can bring more to the table. Keep the grittyness.

GoneFullHextall 06-08-2011 01:06 AM

I am willing to give Versteeg the benefit of the doubt after finding out he needed double sports hernia surgery. I know injuries and surgeries dont mean much to some people around here when it comes to when they affect performance, but I want to see what he does here when healthy.
I like Leino but he isnt worth 3M plus.

KimiFerrari 06-08-2011 01:09 AM

Versteeg has 3; 20 goal seasons, is 3 years younger, can play different roles, has a better PPG number (.588 vs .49) with more games played, has won a cup, will still be RFA next year and is likely going to have a lower cap hit this year then Leino.

But sure Versteeg is worthless.

Yeah, what Kimi said. How is Versteeg worthless? Because he tore his abdominal wall and didn't stand out? Nodl-Richards-Versteeg was by far the best defensive line we put out all season, and they gathered 55 goals between them with a torn wrist, a torn abdomen, and hands that magically turned to stone in the second half of the season.

And, on top of all that, even if Versteeg doesn't live up to our expectations this year, he's an RFA at the season's end, meaning he still has value in a trade/offer sheet.

Kitten Mittons 06-08-2011 02:07 AM

I dunno. I was never a fan of Versteeg, so I might be biased. Wasn't aware of the injury though. But for the money, he is the better choice. I have a feeling someone will offer Leino $4.5mil.

I agree with this. Sure Versteeg was frustrating to watch a lot of times, but so was Leino, and if they have the same cap hits (Leino might even get a higher one) I will pick Versteeg for his versatility.

DutchDennis 06-08-2011 05:54 AM

Leino, no doubt.
Unbelievable this poll is almost 50-50...

We started playing poor since Versteeg arrived, he has to leave this club asap.
