How much of this is a reaction to the Bruins win?
Ed Snider has commented on the way the Bruins won the Cup. Do you think the trades are a reaction to the way the Bruins won - Charra = Pronger, no star players up front, etc...
And if so, could you see the Flyers resigning Gagne, moving Carle and Versteeg and the CBJ 1st (move up to take Landskog so Charley Girl stays a fan) for a higher pick, signing Wisniewski or Erhoff? More "character" guys? Shelley signing, losing Lappy, Pronger injured, the locker room must have been problematic late in the year.

I don't think this had anything to do with Boston winning but more the way Philly lost. How our last series went it was pretty obvious we had some major mental issues to figure out.

Boston manhandled us. They have a very good make-up for a team. They have plenty of "stars" by my definition, but no superstars in their forward corp. Same goes (went) for the Flyers. There may be 10-15 superstar forwards in the league, the Flyers and Bruins don't have any. But it'd be foolish to overlook how talented players like Lucic, Krecji, Bergeron are, and the rest of their lineup is made up of talented role players.

But yes, this was a response to the Bruins series. We needed a goalie, and we need more size up front. So far so good, but I don't think we're done.
