Sign Brian Elliott to minimum salary?
Elliott was not signed by Colorado. Does Ottawa sign him for a 1 year deal?

Marvelous Manked 06-28-2011 07:49 AM

Hopefully not.

I seem to remember him ignoring the media in Ottawa after he got traded. What did he expect?

internetdotcom 06-28-2011 07:50 AM

The only reason to sign him would be as the starter, in order to nosedive us to Yakupov.

Hutz 06-28-2011 07:59 AM

I'd be perfectly happy to have him back, not sure he would be, though.

Marty Straka 06-28-2011 08:00 AM

No thanks... That bridge was blown up a while ago.

BK201 06-28-2011 08:03 AM

No he can't win we need someone that can take a 10 game stretch and win at least 5 games if Anderson was injured.

trentmccleary 06-28-2011 08:07 AM

I don't believe that he had any impact on being here, has potential to be appreciably better or was missed. Not only that, he may still have some misguided dreams of becoming a starter... which is obviously never going to happen here now.

Iamok 06-28-2011 08:20 AM

Guy's confidence was already shattered. Pretty sure going back to the team that gave up on him won't help.

OmniSens 06-28-2011 08:22 AM

Yeah, lets sign him to a 3 way

NHL, AHL, and my home league, maybe he can play goalie for our team

Lenny the Lynx 06-28-2011 08:27 AM

I was one of the people that supported him way too long, I always thought he was going to turn it around and become a decent goalie - but he pretty conclusively showed last year that he won't. I think we are much better to turn the page and try someone else

Lexicon Devil 06-28-2011 08:48 AM

The guy is mediocre at best. I can't understand what anyone ever saw in him - wishful thinking, I guess. The guy has no starter potential, and if we are looking for a backup goalie there are better options out there.

I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul.

TheOneFootedSauce25 06-28-2011 09:20 AM

I would rather see Jakub Klepis come over from Russia and play in net than have Elliot back

NyQuil 06-28-2011 09:22 AM

I think not.

Bazel5 06-28-2011 09:26 AM

Elliot had his opportunity with the Sens. I would pass on him.

Went to high school with him at Newmarket High, very nice guy. I hope he finds success elsewhere.

Jerk Store 06-28-2011 09:28 AM

I love how Fuhr will probably not be posting in the thread

But seriously, no thanks. And the conspiracy theorist in me can't help but surface a little seeing as Colorado didn't re-sign him, supporting my point that they went out and got the worst goalie available to tank properly.

HappyDude 06-28-2011 09:36 AM

Q: Do you seriously think anyone wants to see him back here or he himself would return?

A: No

Senasnore 06-28-2011 09:41 AM

No - that's just wrong...what is it with wanting our old goalie corpses turn into zombies??? Emery, Lalime, Elliott - just put a friggin silver stake thru their hearts and move on....oye...:shakehead

Tundraman 06-28-2011 09:46 AM

It would be clear sign the Sens are aiming for a top pick next year. :)

LOL...Billy Madison...you made my day.

Indy on the Road 06-28-2011 09:56 AM

Yes, of course.

Liliaceae 06-28-2011 09:57 AM

hahah.. you're joking right?

JoeSakic 06-28-2011 10:01 AM

Ridiculous notion. Why is it the second any former player becomes available inevitably we see this type of thread or suggestion? He's gone for a reason.

TSA0402 06-28-2011 10:05 AM

Honestly I'd rather sign Leclaire if that is the case. If not just to see what kind of creative ways he can go on the DL from the bench.

Caseus 06-28-2011 10:08 AM

Absolutely not. That bridge is burned.
