I see no one that I would like to join my team.

Ozymandias 06-28-2011 08:57 AM

Scrubs washing away, nothing much

hototogisu 06-28-2011 08:59 AM

They're probably waiting to renegotiate with him after July 1 (like Montreal is probably doing with Pyatt) but I'd go after Tyler Kennedy in a heartbeat. He scored 21 goals last year...

Maxpac 06-28-2011 09:06 AM

Why the heck didn't St.Louis give D'Agostini an offer? Wasn't he good last season?

I would take Carcillo as a 13th forward anyday.

habitue* 06-28-2011 09:09 AM

O'Sullivan again ? Pouliot will follow the trend, I guess.

From that list, I would like Stewart from Winnipeg and Jacques from Edmonton. Two big local guys (both born in MTL) who can play on our bottom two lines.

Unless, we re-sign Chipchura and D'Agostini ???? ;)

Boris Le Tigre 06-28-2011 09:10 AM

I like Troy Bodie...

played with our prospects in the A (I think). He's huge and can be a winning fighter. He's still developing in tough guy terms but projects ok. Maybe a young Rupp.

It's the new negotiation trick found by GM's to avoid going to arbitration with a player.

D'Ags and Kennedy will probably sign a brand new contract with their respective team on July 1st.

habsroom 06-28-2011 09:13 AM

I would grab Anthony Stewart he is big 6-2 /240. He scored 14 goals and had 39 points. He would fit perfect with Montreal in the top 9. I would also think about picking up D'Agostini 82 21 25 46 he would also fit in the top 9.

Monctonscout 06-28-2011 09:24 AM

Funny seeing Hanson Irwin and Brunnstrom non tendered after a bunch of teams were chasing them only a couple years back.

Most of the guys we could possibly sign in that group are probably not plan A's, first I;d go after a lot of guys that were UFA's before like Laich Cole Langenrunner Upshall Hordichuk etc

neofury* 06-28-2011 09:25 AM

Carcillo D'Agostini Schremp and Pouliot are the most interesting to me.

Didn't some folks also like Stortini and O'Sullivan around here?

Honestly D'Ags on a cheap contract seems like a solid depth signing if we have piss poor luck with UFA's.

Would like to see JF Jacques in a Habs jersey. The guy is a monster - he can hit, fight and play a little. He has some decent skills and could even end up being a power forward at some point.

He gave me a concussion in 2002.

As a checking 4th liner, he should be fine. The guy can't play more than 10 min a game.

The only issue I have with that is that we can get a better "enforcer" type with similar hockey skills like...Hordichuk Winchester Bradley Eager Boulton Konopka etc

In terms of the crash and bang game and occasionally dropping the gloves we have Moen and White already...I think we need a legit enforcer so those guys can play "braver".

Agreed, but he can play 6-7 minutes on the fourth line and provide a strong physical presence.

Patrice Brisebois 06-28-2011 09:38 AM

Let's grab Chipchura to replace Halpern as our bottom line centre!

:sarcasm:

I'd like Carcillo but I don't think he fits in PG and JM system.

can't believe D'Agostini didn't get a qualifying offer after the good season he's had.

Same thing for Kennedy

MTL-rules 06-28-2011 09:51 AM

Come on stop with Carcillo, he isn't wanted in goon heaven because he's too stupid to know when to take his place and hurts the team more than actually help it.

What is it with people obsession for players with high PIM ? (ex. Konopka)

was thinking the same thing - how's his skating?

WeThreeKings 06-28-2011 09:58 AM

There are some big bodied grinders on the list JF Jacques, Zach Stortini, Anthony Stewart that might be worth a look..

Bergfors would be the only highly touted guy I'd look at, but I don't think we'd sign him.

Point taken. I guess that having played against Jacques, I feel like he has untapped potential whereas the others probably don't. He's also bigger and stronger than all the guys you listed except maybe Eager, who to me is too much of a headcase. In terms of a legit enforcer, I dunno. As long as we have guys who can win their fair share of fights, then why do you need a top tier enforcer? Most of them are terrible hockey players and Martin would never play them. Unless you can get a Shawn Thornton or maybe Konopka, I don't see the point.

Their insider said that St. Louis didn't qualify D'Agostini to avoid him filing for arbitration and that they expect to work something out. Still seems risky though.

There are a few good players on the list; namely D'Agostini. Kennedy and Stewart had pretty good seasons too.

D'Agostini had a 26:17 (approx) PROD RATE, which is pretty good considering. He also was only 5 points behind Plekanec in ES scoring.

RoyBoyCoy 06-28-2011 10:03 AM

Poor O'Sullivan/Bernier

Those guys get ragdolled around more than anyone I can think of.

Anthony Stewart is surprising, I was under the impression that he was one of ATL's important players this season. Maybe he told management he didn't want to play in Winnipeg?

I was also under the impression the Phillipe Dupuis turned out to be a good role player for Colorado. Maybe he'd make a good Bulldog, and brief call-up if we have injury trouble on the 4th line.

Anton Khudobin would be a good option for Hamilton next year.

Frankc 06-28-2011 10:05 AM

We should try to sign D'Agostini. I'm not a huge fan of him but at least we would end winning a trade finally :P

Halak vs Eller, D'Agostini & Shultz :P

I meant Anthony Stewart but thanks for the info
