Good luck Dallas.

You're laughing, though somehow you're paying Cam Barker over 2 million per season.

:sarcasm:

Not sure why you are laughing when the oilers just picked up barker.

I'd rather have Souray for one year than Barker.

MetalGodAOD 07-01-2011 03:43 PM

One year, low money. Decent risk/reward.

Oilers fans can't laugh at this deal after signing Barker to 2.2 mil.

The Big Giant Head 07-01-2011 03:45 PM

This should be interesting...

Valic 07-01-2011 03:45 PM

Great signing for the Stars, low risk super high reward, just make sure he doesn't fight.

Happy for Souray but he's really not any better than Barker(remember anybody could have had him on re-entry and teams scouted him and decided against acquiring him).

Damn right I'm laughing. Souray is a pylon. Worse than Barker.

We also need to reach the cap floor, a fact that most of you can't seem to comprehend.

That had more to do with his salary and length of contract though.

Be interesting to see if Souray comes back to his old level. If he does then this is a bargain signing.

wej20 07-01-2011 03:48 PM

Hopefully Gogo can feed him some nice passes.

The Puck 07-01-2011 03:49 PM

Good value.

"And Souray shoots high and wide"

Jesus 07-01-2011 03:50 PM

Should be interesting to see how he does.

Dirty Kari 07-01-2011 03:50 PM

If he fails you send him down to Texas or keep him as your #7 and replace him with Larsen/Lukowich.

If he succeeds and regains some semblance of form Dallas gets a top 4 D that is great on the PP for 1.65.

Pretty low risk move. Dallas has always had a hard on for Souray so somewhat unsuprising.

Laus723 07-01-2011 03:50 PM

Don't understand why he let Skrastins walk to bring Souray in.

Wheatking 07-01-2011 03:50 PM

Based on what the Rangers said after scouting Souray last season...if Barker can skate, he's better than Souray at this point.

If he's effective in Dallas it will be considered a comeback...and not just because he's back in the NHL.

I wish him luck. Not laughing at the deal. I just don't have a ton of faith in him to play in the NHL after what the Rangers said last season.

And the Stars don't? We've made 6 signings today and I think we'll barely be over the cap floor, if even that.

Oh man, this guy got owned so hard on the first page :laugh::laugh:

Dallas has nothing to lose with him on the blue line. Let's see if Souray can make a comeback.

I'm not sure it was simply because of the fact that the rangers were reportedly interested....until they saw him play.

Six.

Maybe we're trying to reach the cap floor too? According to CapGeek our payroll's even lower than yours. :help:

Thank you for the lesson on the Oilers situation, now insert Stars where you put we and you will understand the Stars situation.

The more you know (insert star rainbow)

Robert Theodorson 07-01-2011 03:53 PM

Good signing for a team that will try to avoid being in the bottom 3 in the West next year.

No risk, high reward. Souray will be motivated to show what he's still got.
