NYR's RFA's

Canucks Fan here, just wondering what would it take to get one of Callahan, Dubinsky or Anisimov from New York. They are going to have a lot of cap trouble trying to get Brad Richards and resign all those 4. Maybe something around Jordan Schroeder or our 2nd round pick and a prospect?

BrianBoyle 07-01-2011 05:28 PM

It would take Kesler if you want one of Callahan, Anisimov, or Dubinsky. Boyle, different story.

The Rangers, also, have absolutely no cap problems whatsoever. Their D is set, if they can get Richards, they are also set at center. None of these players will be on the move.

jas 07-01-2011 05:29 PM

$24 million in cap space, and the Rangers are going to have difficulty in re-signing their RFAs if they sign Richards? Can a mod please post a screen cap showing how this is not the case so we can avoid these type of threads?

SiCKNESS 07-01-2011 05:31 PM

Im thinking that Richards get 7 million at least, Callahan and Dubinsky both could get close to or over 4 Million, Anisimov could get 3.5M, Boyle could def get 2.5M

Thats 21M right there and they still only have 4 D signed & not the greatest top 4 defenseman..

Net Front Presence 07-01-2011 05:31 PM

We can give the RFAs $10M and have 14 million left over to sign Richards. Not a problem.

I honestly think it'll take a combined 12M at least to sign those 4 and you really need one more top 4 defenseman and two other defenseman. So it'll be close lol

Anisimov will not be getting that much and neither will Boyle. We have a very good top 4 and the bottom 2 will likely be young guys (MDZ, Erixon, Valentenko).

I would think you guys bring in someone just in case Erixon isn't ready..

Where are you getting the need for another top 4 d-man?
Staal-Girardi
McDonagh-Sauer

Maybe you didn't watch enough NYR last season.

mrjimmyg89 07-01-2011 05:36 PM

For the infinite time:

The Rangers can sign Richards, another forward for about 3 million, and sign all their RFA's and be under the cap.

Seriously. They're young, but they're very, very good.

Who's the guy who you think needs upgrading, SICKNESS?

lol wut?

We don't need to sign any defenders to this team. We have depth and youth on D that will be chomping at the bit to make the NHL. If anything, they'll bring in a cheap vet (1million) to compete and/or be the 7th defender.

Actually, Erixon will be ready from what we've heard from the organization. But, I wouldn't be surprised if an Eminger type is brought back as a 6/7...particularly if Del Zotto isn't ready, which is more likely than Erixon not being ready.

This should be an automatic pop-up to everyone visiting the Rangers board.
