release to follow? so they're going to sign him, then release him?

it would probably be the best thing for the Blackhawks.

Ha. Good luck with that Chicago.

I think it means release as in a press release (i.e. announcing the signing). Could be wrong though

GKJ 07-01-2011 07:27 PM

The side show is over. Time to see how all the people he once pissed off will react.

I don't think there will be anybody left here to find that out

CharlieGirl 07-02-2011 07:07 AM

He can take himself and that surefire 20-goal potential anywhere but Philadelphia. And he can take the two-game suspension to start the season with him.

He had a brief period where he was good on the 4th line with Betts and Lappy. Other than that, not worthwhile.

jd2210 07-02-2011 09:31 AM

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Fenza 07-02-2011 10:06 AM

In the end, it was another bad trade.

I feel most Flyer fans won't miss him, even slightly. This was long overdue.

FreshPerspective 07-02-2011 10:45 AM

Major FAIL of an acquisition but that's what happens when you have to make a salary cap move...

Here is the story of when we acquired him...I remember Holmgren getting defensive about getting Carcillo and him saying Flyers Fans will love him...guess not :shakehead

The 24-year old Carcillo is leading the league in penalty minutes with 174 in 54 games. He has also scored three goals and added seven assists.

"Daniel Carcillo is a good player that happens to be tough and aggressive. That's the bottom line," said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. "We think he can play in our top nine, the fans are going to love him."

Shelley is also a fan favorite.

Note to self: when Homer says he's gotten a fan favorite, we know the guy is gonna suck.

I'll miss him for his hilarity. I won't miss his stupidity though.

Play4Miracles* 07-02-2011 12:30 PM

I was REALLY hoping too see Max and Carcillo reunited again on the same line. That would have been epic! lol

Whenever I look at his face, I just laugh. Glad he is out of Philly.

Played better with the Coyotes than with us. Hopefully he goes back to his true form with the Blackhawks because he does have a lot of potential to be a real pest and a good player in the league given the right situation.
