Leaf Roster by Draft Numbers

FORWARDS
Joffrey Lupul (1/7 in 2002) / Tim Connolly (1/5 in 1999) / Phil Kessel (1/5 in 2006)
Nikolai Kulemin (2/44 in 2006) / Mikhail Grabovski (5/150 in 2004) / Clarke MacArthur (3/74 in 2003)
Nazem Kadri (1/7 in 2009) / Matthew Lombardi (3/90 in 2002) / Colby Armstrong (1/21 in 2001)
Colton Orr (undrafted) / Tyler Bozak (undrafted) / Mike Brown (5/159 in 2004)
Jay Rosehill (7/227 in 2003) / Matt Frattin (4/99 in 2007)

DEFENSEMEN
Dion Phaneuf (1/9 in 2003) / Keith Aulie (4/116 in 2007)
John-Michael Liles (5/159 in 2000) / Luke Schenn (1/5 in 2008)
Carl Gunnarsson (7/194 in 2007) / Mike Komisarek (1/7 in 2001)
Cody Franson (3/79 in 2005)

GOALTENDERS
James Reimer (4/99 in 2006) / Jonas Gustavsson (undrafted)

So this is our team based on draft positions.

It might be interesting to have a look at other teams' rosters and see where the numbers go (which team have the lowest/highest draft number averages... etc.)

For the Leafs, (7+5+5+44+150+74+7+90+21+159+227+99=888/12players=74) our Forwards average at 3/74. Our blue-line is at (9+116+159+5+194+7+79=569/7players=81) 3/81. Lastly, our goalies are 4/99 seeing as Gustavsson went undrafted.

I bolded the draft numbers I thought were particularly surprising, given the playing strength of the player, particularly Grabovski and Gunnarsson (with the reverse going to Komisarek).

Rosehill being a late rounder is surprising?

It's July... what else are we going to talk about? This is much less a waste of time than another: "Fire Wilson", "Burke in Afghanistan" or "Move Komisarek for XXXX" thread...

Well done Indigo. That was actually quite interesting. We have seven top 10 picks in our lineup. That surprised me.

Now your next assignment is to see if that's more than any team in hockey!!!! Have it on my desk by Monday morning!!!!
